Old Main Village in Mankato, MN
4.4

I think Old Main Village is a really awesome place. They have so many activities and opportunities for social interaction. The facility always looks really clean. The public bathrooms downstairs are clean. The staff all seem really friendly. I would move there myself in a heartbeat. My loved one is having a hard time adjusting and is not participating for reasons outside of their control, but I think it's a really nice place.

Mankato Lodge Senior Living
5.0

My loved one was previously a resident at Mankato Lodge Senior Living and the whole experience was great. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff, care services and value for cost were also great. I would recommend Mankato Lodge Senior Living to others.

Traditions of Waterville
5.0

My mother has been living at Traditions of Waterville for nearly two years. She began in Assisted Living and now lives in Memory Care. What most impresses me is the longevity of the staff who work there. Not only is there little turn over, but they like their job, and truly care for the residents. The company and facility is managed well, costs are kept at a comparable rate (actually a bit lower) and the nursing staff is extremely knowledgeable. I have no problem communicating with everyone, and i feel my mom as well as myself is treated with full respect and patience. Not to mention the rooms and apartments are large, bright, comfortable and homey. If i end up here some day, well then I did something right. Every medical and physical need of my mother's is met, and then some. Its all the extra touches that makes Traditions 10 steps above the rest. Like doing a puzzle with my mom or fixing her hair or just sitting down and having a chat. My mom became severely ill. I believe the caring staff at traditions with their 24 hour hands on care and visual supervision saved my mom's life. I am grateful for the peace of mind Traditions of Waterville gives me and my family and for the safety it provides for mom.

The staff is very nice. They take good care of my mother in law. They always have a smile and hello how are you doing? Every time I come to visit. They have a lot of different activities during the week.

North Mankato, Minnesota

Independent Living

For many seniors, cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities provide a good alternative. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they see fit, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between locations, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent health care providers, they may always do so. There are a number of benefits and expenditures to keep in mind while choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in your service plan: private phone, internet access, move-in fee, Waiting list deposit, cable TV, laundry, field trips, and utilities. The luxuries associated with independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, laundry service, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, golf course, healthcare center, transportation, and game/TV room.
