Chateau On Capitol Avenue in Sacramento, CA
5.0

My 91 year old mother has been at Chateau on Capitol Ave. for about six months and has adapted well. She has made many new friends and is enjoying life there. The staff are very attentive and I'm impressed that every staff member calls her by name. It is a personal touch that I find endearing. Her room is always clean and she loves the food. I am comfortable with the level of care she is receiving and believe this move will add quality years to her life. My brother and sister have commented on the improvement in her health, attitude and her out look on life. Would recommend this facility to those who are looking for a quality facility to care for their family members.

Vintage Square at Westpark in Roseville, CA

My community is nice and quiet and I have met a lot of nice people. I am on my own and my apartment is approximately 600 sq feet with a good kitchen and dishwasher. They have an elevator available. They have a monthly calendar with activities and outings listed. There is going to be a luau this month. The staff are nice and it has been a nice so far.

Cogir of Vacaville Senior Living

This community doesn't have a buy in fee, and I am able to do month to month contracts. The staff are great to work with if I have questions or concerns. Maintenance responds very quickly, when needed. They go above and beyond for the residents. This is a good place to come to. This would be ideal for someone in their late 70s to early 80s to start with. They have modernized the community, and updated the flooring to vinyl plank, and it looks great. They are doing a massive amount of repairs to the exterior of the community. There are no smells in the community, it is always clean and smells nice. There are sometimes the community misses the mark when it comes to meals. The breakfast is always great that I have. I have heard other residents say that the food can be salty or the meat is too tough. There are other menu items to order for the residents to choose from. There is free wi-fi for the residents to utilize, and basic cable to watch tv.

Davis, California

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the choice to live an active life while assuring their care requirements are met. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping are taken care of while you are unencumbered to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a variety of costs and benefits to keep in mind while choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in the care plan: field trips, transportation, housekeeping, parking, meals, utilities, cable TV, and laundry. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include security guards, healthcare center, transportation, game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, laundry service, and beauty salon & barber shop.
