My mother is happy here. My mother is in the memory care unit and they don't have many activities on that side, they seem to do more activities on the assisted living side. The staff are good with my loved one.

Harding Place Retirement Community in Searcy, AR

When we got to my mother-in-law's apt we thought it was all clean but there were somethings that weren't like cabinets and stuff but the rest was nice. They just didn't go in with a fine toothed comb. It looks really nice there. She's just now getting some things done because the maintenance man was ill for the 6 or 7 weeks she was there. There was nobody to do the things that needed to be done. That was kind of rough. The staff is great. The manager, Danielle, is nice. The whole place overall is really nice. I think the only improvement they could make would be just making sure that they get their maintenance stuff done. They have some kind of a get together once a month. Danielle cooked chili and invited all the residents to that. They had pancake breakfast and I know they have a couple of trips to the grocery store. It's a non smoking place. I can't even be on the grounds smoking my cigarette. Of course some of the residents smoke on the grounds on the weekends when no one is around but it's not like everyone's smoking all the time.

Independent Living

If you or your loved one would like the peace of mind of having your chores handled by professionalls while living your life at your own pace, you might want to consider independent living. Residents may use their free time as they see fit while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are an assortment of advantages and expenditures to consider when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in your service plan: housekeeping, internet access, meals, parking, utilities, wellness program, Waiting list deposit, and laundry.
