Centrally located in the heart of Edina’s shopping district, Yorktown Continental is surrounded by parks, modest suburban homes, and the Southdale Mall. Just south of downtown Minneapolis, the community offers recently renovated senior apartments in a large complex with numerous amenities that help residents maintain a comfortable and active lifestyle.
The Yorktown Continental features spacious apartments, and ample parking free for all residents. Elevators are never far from your front door, and on-site laundry facilities make daily living just a little more convenient. Meet up with neighbors in the common dining area or settle in for a movie night in the theater room. Meanwhile, the community's library is a nice spot to relax with an old favorite or a new discovery.
Residents can walk out the front door of the Yorktown and link up with the Nine Mile Regional Trail for a walk or a bike ride. The trail crosses over marshes via boardwalks, and winds around several parks. The Southdale Center is the perfect spot to spend a rainy or snowy day, with its miles of halls. I found the place to be full of bed bugs, bad management, no activity for the clients. Walls, floors look like they haven't been cleaned in months. Everything is never fixed . Not a good place to live. Thank you.

I found the community clean, very small apartment, and no amenities except most utilities. There ia a lunch brought in from the outside each day. The residents were very friendly and kind to me. The community just wasnt for me.

There are many activities. There are very nice common areas. There is the option of one meal at noon Monday through Friday which is affordable and good. Helpful staff. Nice apartment. There are special opportunities like food brought in for free or to purchase. My step mother and I are delighted I got her in here.

A Place for Mom has scored Yorktown Continental 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
