The monthly fees do not appear to go towards the benefit of patient care. As a friend visiting I witnessed: No care or minimal at best. Essentially no staff. Smells like old urine. Possible bedbugs or flea bites on loved one. Never saw anyone wiping down surfaces. I found it very disturbing to see the lack of care. I felt horrible leaving my friend there Makes me sick and very sad to even think about it. The few people that do work there work hard but they are in and impossible place. Without more help the place should not be in operation.

My wife was living at this facility for over 3 years. As her mental health deteriorated over time it became necessary for me to have her transferred to a nursing home. I visited my wife every day during that time so I know what the benefits and drawbacks are to this care facility. The benefits are; the staff on the floor who give the personal, face to face, care are dedicated and loving to the residents. The unit itself is modern and spacious. The cleaning staff does an excellent job of keeping the place clean and sterile. The cooks do a great job of preparing delicious and nutritious meals. The drawbacks; it always felt like there were never enough staff to care for all the needs the residents required and deserved. Because of the staff shortage, many times, residents would have to wait to be dressed properly. Residents would be walking around in their nightgowns, no socks, no shoes, and so on for a good part of the morning. Some residents would be soiled and needed to be cleaned but they had to wait until someone was available to perform that task. I think the major factor causing this issue has to be blamed on ownership. The staff who work tirelessly to provide the best care possible are not paid a living wage. One that rewards them for their efforts and hard work. These folks barely make more than the minimum wage. In my opinion, that's a sin. No wonder you have staff quitting and sometimes calling in sick. The workers are simply not appreciated and basically are taken for granted. Being short-staffed causes workers to work double shifts and then they get sick and the vicious cycle continues. I feel a solution would be for ownership to raise the pay of workers and to hire more staff members. Hire more than what the state requires so that the staff and more importantly the residents would reap the benefits this would accomplish.

Never took residents out of the building in the few years my family member was there.Only time they used the van was to take a resident to the doctors.

This location is definitely better than average. They have nice spacious rooms and they have some programming. However, my suggestion would be that they should have more programs. They didn’t have any outings, no plans to take the residents outside the property, no van to go out for rides.
