My family member is happy there. She says they treat her good. She seems to be happy with the food. The only thing is she wants pop, and they don't supply pop. The facility itself is fine, and a lot better than where she was before. She's enjoys Bingo there. All these places are expensive, but the cost seems fair overall, especially compared to the last place.... Read more

A/C doesn't work. Thermostat says change batteries. I do it myself. Still no go. Tell the guy sitting playing catch with his ball(s) in the office. He tells me to track down the maintenance guy (who is gone for the day. I can barely walk but he's too busy to do it.

My brother has lived here for 18 months. As you enter there is a fireplace. Apartments are nice and have roomy bathrooms and closets. Each apartment has a washer and dryer, etc. Food is good. As a quadriplegic, my brother pays more because of cares needed. Despite some turnover, care has been good to excellent. Staff are warm and friendly. They are willing to add staff if we need to leave early for a doctor appointment. There are no church services, but a Bible Study is available once a week. He chooses not to participate in other activities.

My father has been here for a few years and the quality of care has gone down tremendously. The turnover is so high and we have seen six house managers come through here. The current manager is not friendly at all and not very helpful when asked a question by myself, my father or another family member. I have also witnessed her being very rude to her employee's. It seems like we inconvenience her. She has not been at any of the holiday activities they have had. The staff does their best but with the amount of staff they have they are not able to provide quality care. I have had issues with the nurse on site as well. It seems as though she doesn't know about any of the medications that my dad takes and he is always getting his meds late. They have messed up his meds and he is able to tell them that they made a mistake. His apt is suppose to get cleaned once per week and it does not. For the money that they pay, he could stay at a hotel and get better service. Quality of food is awful

My husband was only at this community for about a week before I had to remove him because he did not receive the quality of care I was hoping for from the staff. The nurses had told us they could take care of his medical needs no problem and that was not the case at all after we moved in. They did not listen to what I had told them to do at all and it put my husband back in the hospital with the lack of attention to detail they had. I was very disappointed in the experience we had at this place and do not think I would recommend it to anyone.

I am happy for the care that my husband is getting here. The community is clean and well taken care. The food is outstanding and he is very happy with the variety. He likes the activities walking and bingo. The staff are so caring and friendly. I liked that he is able to go outside alone, he likes being able to read outdoors. It is a open environment . The size of his room is great for him. The staff is considerate and always listen to my needs for my husband. I highly recommend this community for outstanding care and value.

The regional Manager (Denise) couldn't manage a lemonade stand. This place is understaffed constantly. The employees bicker with each other in front of the clients. The Medicine isn't given to the clients on time. I feel it is a terrible risk to put a loved one in this facility or any other of the ones Denise may manage regionally. It is a terrible shame since the facility is very beautiful and could be run much better if they just got new management, who knows who to keep on staff, and who not to. Employee's should be based on their people skills, and abilities not Her own personal opinions. I have personally heard Denise accuse innocent people of things and berate and belittle the staff telling them "I don't care if I have to fire everyone." and "If you don't like it here, go work at Walmart" with extreme prejudice and what I believe to be seriously unprofessional behavior. DON'T come HERE unless you know they've replaced HER at LEAST.

Dad is so much happier at White Pine Senior Living-IGH-II than the previous place. Within a month after moving dad in they changed staff. They said they were going to do some things for dad that they never did. One was setting him up for local transportation. It is supposed to be pretty cheap but since they didn't get it done in time it is costing him much more. We are still waiting on the paperwork to go through. So that was one thing that wasn't great. Overall things have been good and dad is happy.

I would not recommend White Pine Senior Living to anyone, our experience here was not a good one. I don't think the staff watch the residents very carefully, and they only have emergency pull cords in the rooms, no sort of life alert type necklace option. It was always hard to locate a staff member if you needed any assistance. And on top of those issues, the food here was just awful. Everything was very bland, and nothing was fresh.

Overall I think they do a good job at White Pine Senior Living! The staff here does a great job looking after the residents, although I do think they could use a few more people on hand. But those that they do have are patient, kind, and obviously genuinely interested in the well-being of their residents. Mom is always clean and well taken care of.

Although the staff is friendly, I find their knowledge of how things are run there disheartening. I wish they had done more research before I moved my stepfather in, for I would probably have picked a different facility to meet his needs better. Most elderly are set in their ways for various reasons, and when most of their independence has been taken away due to their aging, EVERYTHING that can be kept the same is crucial, no matter how small it may seem to someone else.

It’s a very nice place. We’re new at this, but it seems very friendly. My loved one loves the food. It’s a very friendly place. We haven’t had any trouble with the parking. The laundry service has all been fine.

March 19, 2014Thank you very much for you tour! We are glad that you enjoyed it! We look forward to helping you and your loved one. Take Care!
The building was constantly being cleaned, the staff was keeping the residents occupied with activities. The manager was well informed and provided us with an activity schedule for the residents. One year out of pocket pay by resident as apposed to two year by most others before the elderly waiver paid for the stay. Visiting pets were welcomed. Warm over all feeling.

March 19, 2014Thank you for your tour! We appreciated you taking the opportunity to take a look at us! We are here to provide best in class service to our residents and families. We hope to see you again! Take Care!
It seems really decent and what I really like is anytime I've bene there and any of the staff interactions we've had, the peopel are extremely pleasant and attentive, they make his bed and clean his room and do anything they can to help him, they've been very accomodating. My dad felt more comfortable with the layout here, they've got plenty of activities offered, but my dad is kind of a creature of habit so when he gets more comfortable he'll proabbly particiapte more. Right now he's thinking about going to the luau, the families are invited and even if you want to come to lunch or dinner, they just ask that you give them a little bit of notice to prepare for the number of people and you subsidize them a little. My dad says the food is good, he likes the variety and he also likes the location. There's a walgreens right across the street and they deliver the prescriptions right to your unit and there's a rainbow grocery store so if you call them they'll bag your groceries for you and deliver them to you. They're very liberal with what they charge, they consider 2 meals a day normal and if you want breakfast you can pay for that too but they said that a lot of their residents snack and then have lunch and dinner but they said if dad wanted to, a couple of times a month, go down and have breakfast with someone they wouldn't charge him for that and they said if he wanted to bring his car and park in their heated garage they wouldn't charge him for it either unless more people started using it and they would have to reinforce the fee.

A Place for Mom has scored White Pine Advanced Assisted Living of Inver Grove Heights 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
