The on-site managers are very caring and treat us like family. They cook all our meals from fresh ingredients. The meals are very good. Our complex contains only 11 apartments. However, the property is on 8 acres with lots of deer. This is also an ideal place for long walks with my dog. The grounds are meticulously taken care of and always clean and welcoming. Unlike larger adult communities, we do not have a full activities schedule. We do have a large community room for Bingo, movies, crafts, and miscellaneous other activities. The highlight of all activities is the annual Christmas party hosted by the owners and including not only the residents but also, their families.... Read more

West Oaks is a small, friendly community with lots of outdoor space for walking my small dog and enjoying the wild deer herd. The location is ideal, very close to shopping, yet very open and very well cared for. The resident managers truly care about each resident in the community. Weekdays, breakfast and lunch are prepared on site by the managers and are served in the community dining room. Each meal is prepared with fresh ingredients and really delicious. Bottom line, I have zero regrets choosing to move to West Oaks.

This is a small operation in a larger small town. There are 12 apartments in four buildings and a combined manager apt, kitchen, and common area. There is a weekly exercise group and a somewhat regular movie day. The staff checks on you if you don't show for meals and don't let them know you aren't coming. What makes this a very good deal is the cost.

A Place for Mom has scored West Oaks Independent Living Community 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
