Very Satisfied, affordable solution for your loved one

Mom is very taken care of here and very happy. She's treated with dignity and satisfied with her care and the facility overall. Communication from them is excellent, they are very prompt about answering questions. Housekeeping is good. Mom likes that she has cable and wifi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food seems ok, no complaints from mom. They do have big meals and offer a good selection. The facility is bright and cheerful and always clean. I would recommend them to family and friends!... We've all seen the ad "a place for mom," and we all hope that the day will never come that we have to make that decision. It was like overnight we realized that our mom could no longer live alone, and she did not won't to live with any of her children, she wanted to maintain her independence as long as possible. So we wanted a place that was neutrally located to family. When I visited [name removed] @ Country Heritage, with my mom, I knew this would be a good fit. It has been my mom's home for nine years now. There are a few things that could be changed, but taking "all" things into consideration she's happy and that's all that matters. To add one more thing, the residents there are more like family to each other and for that I'm thankful. I know that if at anytime something happens with my mom I will be notified, and that gives me peace of mind.

Very little activities

While looking at a few options for my loved one, this location seemed like a better fit. The facility itself is clean and the staff members seem to be taking care of her. What I will say is that they provide very little activities. They have someone that comes in and does a church service or bible study once a week. I think they could use a little bit more activities. The rooms as well do not have complete privacy. There is a halfway divider for those sharing a room, but that is pretty much it.

It felt more like being in someones home rather than a facility.

We really liked it. The activities didn't seem to happen that often and related to the cognitive skills of the residents, I'm not sure how much they could really do. A lot of the food was very processed. They tried very hard to accommodate for the diet, but maybe not so much frozen or processed food, maybe a little healthier meals would be good. It's on a lot of land and was a very nice setting. They offered a private room and a private bath. They were also very accommodating financially. It felt more like being in someones home rather than a facility.

Visited today; liked the home and staff; the location was convenient to us and Doctors in Gainesville. The only real negative was the size of the room - it was very small, barely any room for an oxygen machine, wheel chair or anything personal. Will discuss w/ Dad and take him by to see as well.
