My Grandma had lived on both the assisted living and Reflections memory care units at Villas of Hollybrook, Pekin. Upon entering almost each visit, you almost never see an aide much less a nurse. Major lack of communication with my Grandma's hospice team and Villas staff while she was passing on.. At the price they charge, there should be much better care. A lot of the staff really don't have the right disposition and caring personality needed to provide special care to Dementia residents. I understand adequate elder care is hard to find but is so very important to families like ours that have loved ones that deserve a trusted and caring soul caring for them.

Some improvements Villas of Holly Brook could make would just be their overall communication, and their on-signboard orientation process.

While I believe that the facility is probably Ok, our appointment was for 1:30 we arrived at 1:20 and we were out of the building by 1:36, totally finished. I didn't feel like they had my mothers best interest in mind.

This review is about the Reflections Memory Care side of the facility. The facility itself is clean, bright, and nicely done, and the visit of the facility was positive. However, within a week the manager who gave the tour and the head of nursing for Reflections had both left the facility so the people that I thought would care for my parent were no longer available. In addition, the staff had little understanding of hospice and were constantly arguing about medication administration or trying to force my parent to adhere to their strict schedule. I virtually lived at the facility for about a month during my parent's last days of life and provided much of the care myself. Sometimes I would push the bell and it would be 30 minutes before someone came to the room. CNAs were friendly and helpful for the most part. I did not witness residents engaging in much activity and little of the 'stimulation' aids that I was shown on the tour were in use. Summary: The facility is an attractive, locked facility that provides custodial care and not always in a timely fashion. The promised level of care and bells and whistles highlighted on the tour were absent. Staff turnover during my parent's time there was high.

The Aids just stand by some plant in the dinning room and ignore their patients that need help getting back to their room after meal or you cant find one at all because they are hiding in the breakroom. The Charge nurse is rude and rolls her eyes at anyone that has a question most the time I walked in to the building to see my loved one she was at the front desk making jokes with the other aids that were sitting on the desk top. the building is beautiful and activities seem to be posted and going on almost all times of the day but the people that work there are rude people and I hate that I have someone I love and care about there. Thinking that is she called on her call light or fell she would not be answered or found for hours scares me. [Removed] is just as beautiful and nice but their aids are friendly and you don't see them sitting on countertops or ignoring patients when they are asking for assistance.

Modern, clean facility. A lot of activities in and out of facility. Staff very nice and informative. Offers many room arrangements to choose from. Spoke to a resident who recommended this facility.

I toured here when looking for a place for my mom and it was really where I would’ve preferred. They have assisted living as well as memory care. It’s such a beautiful place, it was like a luxury hotel. When you walk in, it’s very open and there’s an area that has a fire place and there are different areas for games with a neat game room. There’s also a sauna, it’s just crazy. Everyone that we met was very friendly and very interactive. My dad said he liked it for my mom but it was just too far for him to drive to see her every day and that’s the only reason why we wound up not choosing.
