Not really conducive to elderly. No ramp for Front door and require you to meet delivery like Peapod in the garage.

Not for Older or Disabled People

This is not a place for older residents. They don’t have a ramp for the front entrances. If you are at all in need of physical assistance you have to walk up the front steps. Also they no longer allow Peapod to come in the front entrance which means that an older resident has to go all the way to the garage to meet the delivery people. What’s the point? Not for older people.

Luxurious location, but that's all.

The person who wrote the five star review needs new glasses! This property is quite shabby compared with others in the same price range. It is not particularly well-maintained. It has gone down considerably in the last few years. Also, there is a hefty fee to use the function room. The fee is not refundable.

Am looking out my French doors and wall of windows at the expanse of green grass and landscaped berms, beautiful tulips and forsythia, and the many budding mature trees. Have lived here for 5 mos after looking at the many new apartments in Glenview, Northbrook, and Deerfield. I chose Valley Lo for the large square footage and value for the comparable rent, large windows and sunny environment, heated garage (at no extra cost), private balcony, convenience (close to transportation, the expressway, shopping), beautiful surroundings with grass, flowers, and a walking path, large outdoor pool, and feel of "home" rather than a small hotel room. It does not have a golf simulator, tech space, or glitzy public spaces but I wouldn't use those. There is a lovely atrium party room. What I wasn't expecting but am thrilled with is the level of maintenance and upkeep. This well-managed property keeps the public spaces scrupulously clean, powerwashes the garage, keeps sidewalks and parking lot clear of ice and snow, and responds to maintenance requests immediately. Maintenance men are super friendly and helpful. The property manager is lovely and professional. Waiting for the much bigger-than-a-postage-stamp-pool to open soon. Compared to the tiny 600 sq ft apts overlooking asphalt parking lots the new complexes are offering, there's no contest. So glad I chose Valley Lo. (P.S. No one asked me to write this review. It's sincere and legitimate.)

Apartment more of a motel feel. Felt too expensive for what you are getting. Have to go up stairs to enter apartments which I found difficult.
