My Mom and Dad stayed at Traverse Manor for almost 10 years, with my Dad passing first about 7 years ago. Many times they shared “this is the best place for us to be” through a series of family celebrations and health events. They had a one bedroom apartment, meals, cleaning services and access to friends and the staff. The staff loved on them over the years and as each one passed, we were touched by how much they too felt the loss. The staff has always been open to suggestions to address challenges posed by aging, and implemented a support plan to that my Mom and Dad could remain independent yet supported for their medications and daily care. I would recommend Traverse Manor to anyone considering either assisted living or an apartment with home health care services. It is a special place.... Read more

I liked this setting very much for my parents as they love to look outside and watch birds and animals. It is quiet and peaceful. It is great need of updating to look more modern.

Everyone was very helpful in getting the care that my parent s needed. Very clean rooms and lots of space for them to make the place feel like home.

I can only comment on the independent living part of Traverse Manor. The value here is certainly five star, it's almost half the price of another facility we lived at. They do not have the strict rules that the assisted living facility we were at had, if I want I can have a half dozen people visit me in my apartment. I would give them a 4 for the food, the menu is not very interesting and the vegetables are always overcooked. I consider myself a bit of a gourmet, so my standards may be different from others. I like that for small maintenance job I can fix it or my friend can fix it without having to get a manager's approval. The independent living option is a much better fit for us. [Cannot accurately score the Care Services and Activities since we don't participate in either.]

A Place for Mom has scored Traverse Manor 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
