My dad likes his apartment at Winslow Manor, owned and managed by Bainbridge Senior Living. It is conveniently located to downtown Bainbridge Island, so he can walk to shopping, dining, cultural events, the Senior Center, church and other activities. He takes advantage of the weekday dinners, and enjoys being able to get to know his neighbors over a meal -- included in the rental fee. Having a full kitchen makes it easy for him to prepare his own breakfasts and weekend dinners -- and being close to the Senior Center means he can enjoy congregant meals there for a donation of just $3. It's independent living, but with a little extra touch of the weekday meals, prompt attention to property issues, and friendly contact with BSL coordinator [name removed]. By dad's an active 92, and this has been a good housing situation for him at a price he can afford.... Read more

We were very lucky to find Winslow Manor via the internet slightly over 2 years ago. Our son that lives in Seattle did a site visit for us since we were still in Chicagoland for my husband’s last job. It was easy to become part of the community by having nightly dinner with the residents. You can develop close friendships or be as independent as you wish. The nutritious meals are prepared with fresh ingredients. Dinners are served Monday through Friday at 5. You have the choice of bringing meals to your apartment. The kitchens are fully equipped so I frequently prepare our meals. The landscaping is lovely and well maintained as is the building. They welcome small pets which was a must for us. The staff is always helpful and professional. They can be reached by phone, email and maintenance request forms that are in the lobby.

.My husband and I have been here for 2 years. We love it. Quiet, night and day, lovely tenants and wonderfully helpful staff, make life perfect. Socialize at dinner or on short bus trips. If you prefer to be more private, you will also fit right in. Yoga class and book club are popular. The best thing, however, is the location. You can walk to everything. Finally, the grounds are kept beautifully.

I really like this community for care. The staff are always helpful and caring and offer assistance. We like that we can cook for ourselves and that is something that we were looking for. They have activities that are offered that we do enjoy. I like that they offer trip out of the community that we enjoy. We would highly recommend this community which is very close to the downtown area.

I would not recommend these apartments to seniors - or anyone. There is no soundproofing. The entrance carpets and elevator carpet are always filthy. The landscaping comprises of a few bushes, no ground cover - just dirt! The building is old, with old fixtures, ancient appliances and old carpeting in units. The exterior windows are rarely cleaned and the lights in the parking are so filthy that they are dimmed. Food is served at 5pm ( too early) Mon- Friday but is not good with high sodium content and could not be considered a well balanced meal. The management is very unfriendly. The rents are raised 5% each year and rents have doubled in the last 8 years. There are stairs going down to the front door.
