The staff of the Waterford are very caring and helpful. They have so many activities and we always have something fun to do. We go on outings to restaurants, places like Kingwood and to the store. We have tailgate parties before all the OSU games. I love the apartments. They are much larger and nicer than the others that we looked at. We have many options of food to choose from. I love it here.

Response from The Waterford at Mansfield
August 3, 2024Thank you for sharing your experience! The Waterford at Mansfield loves hearing about resident thoughts and feedback.
In regards, to care for residents is, either hire more qualified people, or, have better training for them. It seem like quite a few of the caretakers did not understand how to handle a difficult patient. You people are a last resort for these kinds of individuals and it's not easy. They need adequate and qualified care by facilities such as this. So, therefore, the caretakers need to be well equipped for the task at hand, and it seemed a lot of them were inexperienced, and did not know how to handle lockdown patients. I believe you need more qualified caretakers. I know it's a tough job. I think everything else is acceptable. Honesty goes a long ways, even when they don't want to hear it. You should all be commended for the work you do. It is a very necessary and needed ministry.

All was done very well. They were the friendliest of all communities I visited. The staff knew the residents by name. It was a great community.

This community had different floors and I did not feel like this would work for my loved one. Also my loved one had to do all laundry and that would not work for my loved one.
We had some issues in the beginning, but things are getting all worked out as time goes on. We went with The Waterford because my mom had friends who were here and also the value for the money is really good. The staff that we talked to from the beginning through today have all been very professional and they seem like they really do care. I would recommend to others looking.

Response from The Waterford at Mansfield
March 16, 2022Randall, we're happy you found our staff to be so supportive during your experience here at The Waterford at Mansfield.
We chose The Waterford because it was the only place where we could get an apartment, others we looked at were all just rooms. The apartment sizes are good, she has a 2 bedroom 1 bath but they also have other sizes to choose from and from what I saw they are all nice. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

September 22, 2021Thanks, Mary for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. Take care!
I would recommend the community to others. [name removed] was so sweet, and all the staff have been amazing. It was amazing the staff helped us create a plan for our loved one moving into the community. We are happy to know my loved one is taken care of, safe, and eats their meals. They have a salon on site for the residents. [name removed] has gone above and beyond, and takes care of my loved one's hair each week.

Mom and dad have lived there 3 months now and they are happier than they ever were in their prior independent living arrangements. They brag about the caring, kind staff and the delicious food. In the short time they’ve been there, they’ve made lots of friends. Knowing they are happy and well-cared for takes a burden off my shoulders. My experience with their staff has been exceptional. I would highly recommend The Waterford to anyone considering this difficult decision.

Parents have lived there over 5 yrs. In the last years a quick downturn. Food, nursing, and care-all deteriorated. Fees have gone up and they try to raise rates any way they can-nursing levels, food, staff.. But you don't receive the improved care. You have to be on your toes and end up providing care. Then you are hassled by nursing director. So the way the rate cost on the scale is not accurate. It is high. So use your sense and know that the in the door presentation is off the charts. But buyer beware.

If a review was posted prior to 2015 it stands true. The Waterford WAS a wonderful and well respected facility. However when the executive director changed hands this place went to hell. Everything “Horrible Place” posted is true from the D.O.N. to the horrible food to the unfriendly staff - night shift receptionist must have found the only job she can hold that does not require her to interact with the public. Please, if you are reading this because you are considering having your loved one live there DON’T BE FOOLED! The Executive Director puts on quite a facade when you come in to tour, going as far as making her staff jump through hoops to impress you. Once she has spun her web everything returns back to the pathetic standards, underpaid-overworked and micromanaged staff, poor nutrition, lack of social activities and many cost cuts. How sad that they can’t even afford ketchup! A watered down cup of tomato juice will be brought out upon request for your hamburger. Be sure to be on your toes with the D.O.N. Keep good records on your end because they will go to great lengths to raise the level of care even if it is not medically needed. Should you choose this facility, keep a very close eye on your loved one. I hate to say it but they will deteriorate at the Waterford.

What a lovely facility! I was impressed as I walked into the large, open lobby and the friendly receptionist greeted me. I was happy with the wide choice of activities daily and the variety of meals available for the resident's at any time. The food was made with fresh ingredients and very tasty. I loved that they had a baker! The nursing staff were very caring to the residents, they truly had a rapport with the resident's, felt like family. The apartments were very nice with lots of storage. Will definitely consider this facility when the time comes that I need the care.

As I stepped into the Waterford I was greeted by a spacious, airy lobby and a friendly receptionist. As I toured the facility, I was amazed by the variety of activities and the cleanliness of the facility. The food was delicious, fresh and homemade. The fresh baked bread was definitely a highlight of the resident's meal. The apartments were nice with lots of storage. The staff was caring and attune to the residents as they were caring for them. I would absolutely choose this facility for my parents

My mother has lived at The Waterford for 2 1/2 years and we could not be more pleased. When it became apparent that it was time to move Mom from her home of 50+ years making the decision on an assisted living was one of the most difficult of our lives. The staff of The Waterford made everything about this transition so smooth and pleasant for Mom and us kids. Questions and concerns are addressed and resolved promptly and professionally. I truly see every day that the staff care for the residents as if caring for their own family.

My mom's been there for over a year. Great place. Front desk has been great. Dir. of nursing has been great. The nursing staff has been on top of things, and call me with any concerns they have over my mom. Meals have been good, and an alternative menu has been a blessing for mom. Remainder of staff have been on top of things. They have done a great job giving me a break on caring for mom.

They can't keep nursing staff because the DON (Director of Nursing) who is only a LPN is full of herself. She's rude and hateful. She drinks and partys and rumor has it, she had a bottle of liquor in her office. [Removed]. Her name is [Removed]. She needs to go. She's ruining the place and Waterford keeps her cause they want the cheapest labor they can get. If nursing makes a mistake on passing out meds they blame the resident, if they lose laundry (which constantly happens) that's the residents fault too. If the resident is ill and food is delivered to their room, it's cold. One thing after another. The nursing staff never takes any blame. It's always the residents fault. The place is a hot mess. I wouldn't put a "hated" family member in there. They get away with having a director of nursing being only an LPN because it's private pay. You don't even have to be certified to be a nurse aid there. And they're NOT certified. So desperate for help they hire on the spot. Then the new employee gets a dose of the D.O.N. and they quit. It's a revolving door. They place is full of ROTTENESS! Employees are quitting like no tomorrow. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. AT ALL. The place is super expensive and you will NOT get what you're? paying for. There are many other places to choose from. Please make sure your loved one goes into a facility that the nursing staff will take the blame when it's their fault and still give the proper care. Believe me, I know. I'm still considering suing them. And probably will.

My mother has lived here nine years as an independent. Once she needed assisted living care two weeks ago I have seen enough to move her immediately! Disrespectful and rude. It's terrible how they were speaking to her. No dietitian, food is terrible! Keep looking, don't put a loved one here?
