Overall a nice place to live, 55+. Great people who live there, no complaints. There is some concern however with the way they handle major appliances getting fixed, such as the furnace during the winter months. Waiting over a week for a furnace to get fixed is to long. Of course they do supply you with a space heater. Having someone in the office for three days a week makes it difficult when something should arise and there is no one there. My rating of this place is dropping.

I went to the appointment and was told the person already left for the day. I received a follow-up apologetic phone message where the person told me to just call directly and that she deletes all emails for A Place for Mom. Seems like you could miss some good business opportunities when A Place for Mom is recommending them. I decided my time is worth more than this place has to offer.

I was anxious to move in the Villages and had high expectations because I heard many good things about the Villages, unfortunately I have been hearing how difficult it is to get things accomplished if you have a problem within your apartment, this left me with a sinking feeling. I am a person that does not like negative remarks or involve myself in these kind of conversations...Time will tell how problems will be taken care of...and I will see for myself !! Although I do not completely rely on all the activities because I am able to drive and I am able to attend activities outside of the Villages. When I did attend some of the activities I was surprised how few people attended, however the activities I did attend everyone was very nice and friendly. I have not been here long so perhaps it takes time to get acquainted !! I love the apartment, find it very comfortable and enjoy my location in the building. Everything is in good condition except for the kitchen counter top that is in need of being replaced ......I have asked to have it replaced several times, but as of yet I have not received a response. I am a person who takes care of not only my property but respect and take care of other peoples property. [Removed] the manager does a good job of being helpful, friendly and is eager to help. She has a big job on her hands, but is pleasant to deal with.

For the most part it's pretty good. The biggest problem is that they don't have a full time manager, just two people working part time. The owner is old school, and they just keep cutting back on things, and the philosophy seems to be if you don't like it you can move. The residents are so nice, it's what keeps us here. It's not all doom and gloom but they could use some improvements.

Facility has waiting list. Can't guarantee place in June. Can't rate at this time because I have not seen it. Sister told me it is a keeper.

It's snowy weather right now, and they've done a great job clearing off the walks. It snowed overnight and by morning someone had salted and started clearing it. It is one big apartment house, and you have to be over 50 or something, but I'm 80. You see a few couples but mostly single people. Mostly women. There's no meals but that's fine because you pay extra for that. I have a one bedroom for $800 a month, and every apartment has a walk out area on the deck. There is something going on practically every night and I am right across the hall from a big meeting area - the only problem is that you hear noise from the other apartments! They have a lot of jig saw puzzles that they display up and down the hallways. There was a dinner planned for Christmas and Thanksgiving. They do shopping trips with buses that come to pick people up, and right across the street is a Meijer. You need a key to get in so people don't have to worry about people breaking in. It is very, very nice here. I can understand why people stay at this place.

I like everything about it so far. There is no food here. It's individual apartments with your own kitchen. The units are large and there is a washer and dryer in the unti. Everybody has a patio or balcony. It's nice. They have bingo, a pool table, fitness center, reading room and chat on Sundays. They have other games and puzzles too.
