Set out on the fringes of the Detroit suburbs, The Retreat at Northville is comfortably secluded from city life, surrounded by a spacious yard and stands of deciduous trees. The smaller community is a peaceful alternative to larger senior living facilities. With plenty of space for residents to relax and enjoy the better things in life, the Retreat is also just blocks from the Maybury State Park and a number of golf courses.
The beautiful community is filled with modern furnishings and comfortable amenities, allowing residents to feel at home. The open, naturally lit living room is perfect for catching an afternoon nap or gathering with friends for a movie, while the spacious private rooms give residents a place to relax.
The Retreat offers plenty of opportunities for residents to stay active and engaged, but it is also conveniently located near a variety of fun attractions, along with recreational and dining options. Place bets on the ponies over at Northville Downs Racecourse, or enjoy strolling among the towering trees at the Bennett Arboretum. 3 years ago my mom was there for 4 months, and we had a good experience. At that time, the staff was kind, friendly, and attentive. I do not know if the staff has changed since then. The administrator was awesome and let me move in my mom's adjustable bed and her recliner. To do this she had to have someone move out the existing furniture. She was very accommodating to my needs. The home itself is beautiful. The price was fair. The owners of the home bought Christmas gifts for all of the residents, which was a very kind gesture.

We chose this facility at the time because we wanted a smaller community where she could not get lost that was more homey. The room sizes were fantastic, they do have different options on sizes as well so you can choose based on what you need. The management staff was here was easy to work with, if there were any issues they were quickly resolved. I would tell others that if you are looking for a place with activities, there really is not a whole lot here. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.
