The reality does not match the sales pitch or brochure. poor staff to ownership relationships, and the very good ones end up leaving. Housekeeping is non-existent at the moment due to staff shortage. Nursing and Care staff have to pick up the load when it comes to laundry trash and housekeeping right now. My room has not been cleaned at all this week. They say we received three Chef prepared meals a day. There's a lovely lovely Latin American Family who does the cooking, but I can't believe these are certified chefs. and the food was so full of carbohydrates when I got here that I actually had to complain. It's just the cheapest food they can get to keep everybody fed. It's more like nursing home food. No exercise room as advertised, no physical activities on a regular basis. They refuse to let us take our pets to the vet on their bus. But they say they are pet friendly. Bus only runs Tuesday and Thursday, $50 a ride any other day. None of that is in brochure. Much more call me.

I can't speak for the food or activities, but the rest I would rate a 5. They do not give us any information on her condition when she has been taken to the hospital for falls. Nor do they volunteer information concerning new medicine prescriptions. I would recommend this facility to others.

Response from The Renaissance of Stillwater
February 27, 2024Thank you Betty, for your valuable feedback. We'll ensure better communication regarding residents' health updates and medication changes. We appreciate your recommendation and strive to continuously improve our services. Kind regards, Alison
When I first contacted A Place for Mom I received a different room cost than what it actually starts at. The regional director was great, but after my mom was moved in, the costs I was told for her care changed by $XXX [amount removed] a month. Increased Hard to reach the facility after 5pm and the mailbox was always full. Not sure if that has been fixed.

Anywhere you go - the more family involvement, the better care your loved one is going to get. I would like to see them encourage the residents more to take part in activities and engage in personal hygiene routines. If my loved one says she doesn't want to take a shower today, they just let it go, and a week will have gone by without her showering. Regarding the food, they had us fill out a questionnaire about what she likes, and what she can and cannot eat. But they don't really follow a meal plan for dietary restrictions. Everybody pretty much gets the same thing, and there are no alternative options offered. They also serve a lot of bread and carbohydrates. The facility is pretty clean, and I don't notice any bad odor. The individual apartments are not kept as clean, but again, that could be residents refusing the cleaning service.

We love Renaissance of Stillwater. My loved one does not participate in the activities, but I see things going on all the time. Every time I am there the food looks fantastic and they try to accommodate her if she is not eating well. We looked at a couple of other facilities, but [name removed] was just so inviting and made us feel so comfortable with the way presented the programs to us. We felt that they were going to take great care of her and they are. I would 100% recommend them to other families.

Response from The Renaissance of Stillwater
June 21, 2022Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
I would advise to look for somewhere else other than this community for your loved one. With the staff it just depends there are some people who are very nice and then there are some staff that are not nice also.

I counted 11 occasions where I had to provide her with food because they could not. They do not respond to the call for help button. Also, she sliced her leg open and all they did was give her a dirty dish towel and did not even call me, they did not even do the basics of first aid. Management is ineffective and the staff members are not on the same page. My mom ended up moving out due to these issues. One of their residents in memory care walked out at 1AM and they did not call law enforcement until after 2 AM. Overall, we did not have a good experience here and would not recommend it.

when my Mother first moved into Renaissance, spring of 2017, it was clean and most staff took care of Mom and worked with family to make her stay comfortable. It changed for the worse and by early 2018 the room and building was always dirty, under staffed to give proper care. Each time we dropped by to check on Mom she was laying in her own waste with wet sheets. They said she didn’t feal like getting up so she missed meds and food and was given a liquid meal replacement. Some staff tried hard to care for so many in the memory building but a few were lazy. Management was deceiving and would always give me the same answer “ they were working to make things better”. We had no choice but to relocate Mother to another facility.

The tour was nice and the staff member answered all of my questions. It was a nice community and looked clean. We were only looking for respite care for my mom but they had a waiting list. We had to go with another place.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my sister and I have no complaints of how things are going for her. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I thought they did a great job with the presentation and even offered us a meal during our visit. I liked that the residents seemed engaged in different activities and just enjoying themselves. It was just not the right fit for her in the end decision .

I have not been able to go visit my sister in law for a few weeks but from what I understand she is doing really well here. She suffers from dementia but I'm sure she is participating in the appropriate activities for her. I have not heard anything different so I am under the impression she is eating well and liking the food. Any dealings I have had with the staff I have found them to be helpful and kind so I would hope that if they had come across any issues with her I would have been contacted.

We were in this community and we liked the care that we did receive. The staff was nice and they tried to be caring and loving. This community did not work out for us, but we did like the care that we received while we were here. The community was clean and the menu seemed appealing. There is a nice outdoor area for the residents to enjoy. They did offer activities for him to participate for the residents who are willing to participate. We would suggest that families tour this community for the type of care that is needed for a loved one's needs.

We like the care at this community. The staff is caring and attentive. We like knowing that he is in a clean community for care. The menu is appealing and he is pleased with the nice variety. They do offer him to participate with the other residents, but he is slowly socializing with the other residents. We would recommend the care and the value of this community for other families.

My husband was at the Renaissance of Stillwater for a month and during his stay, they were going through a transition period. Their administration was changing over and it made things a little difficult. They could use some work on their communication between shifts.

My brother seems very pleased with his move to community. He says they are taking good care of him and his needs. The staff really go above and beyond for him and his needs. He is likes it here, and I know he is being cared for very well. This is a community I would recommend. They are treating him very well at this community.

This was a very good move for my mother. They are taking good care of her and her needs here. This is a good looking facility, they do a good with keeping her room and the community nice and clean. The staff have been very helpful and responsive to my concerns. She is trying some activities. The food is okay, they just got a new cook. So they are working on improving the food. I know she is safe and in good hands. I would recommend this facility.
