June 14, 2024Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We would like the opportunity to discuss your experience with you further. Please contact me directly so that I may address your concerns. Sincerely, Pamela, Executive Director
Every one of the workers makes fun of the patients so loud you can hear it through your shut door, no respect. they just figure everyone has totally. lost all of their hearing. They will nickel and dime you for everything, smile to your face, and give you the middle finger when you walk away, nice looking place but dont ask for any help, it all comes with strings attached, if your on Medicaid DO NOT COME HERE!

Positive, the people seem to be happy. Meals have a nice selection. Facility in good condition for the age. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only negative is that the pharmacy and checks to make sure someone is taking there meds can be a little lacking. Alot of activities. nice pool. the way meals are served, order like a restaurant when she wants to eat. Also it is close as she can get to me. And the view is beautiful of the mountains.

I enjoy living at the Peaks. We have wonderful care givers. Servers in dining room are amazing. The Peaks Lodge is beautiful with nice views and forested grounds. Food menus make it difficult to have consistent healthy diet, but great salads help. Lodge has heating, cooling and maintenance issues which are being addressed. Life enrichment provides good variety of activities. Spiritual director is a blessing to all.

May 5, 2023Hello, Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate your feedback and are so happy to hear you enjoy your experience living at The Peaks, A Senior Living Community. Have a nice day. Sincerely, Michele, Executive Director
The caretakers were really amazing with my dad. We had an excellent experience with the actual care he got. Dealing with the administrators with payments and logistics was not always smooth and sometimes frustrating. They often didn't follow through with things. They said they would do so, but we had to be really clear and vigilant.

October 24, 2019Hi Charlie, We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are happy to hear that you and your loved one had a positive experience. Well wishes!
My Grandma lived here for two years. The staff was amazing in every way. My grandmother was well taken care of by the Caregivers. They were quick and attentive. The Nurse on Assisted living side was helpful and easy to contact. She got back to us quickly. The food was delicious. It is really hard to appease all the seniors with so many dining rooms and different tastes acquired from world travel by the residents. The executive director was great and helpful. She was able to answer all our questions and help with billing questions. Lastly, My grandmother finished her life at the Health care center located in this building. This side was so wonderful. The nurses sang to her daily and the CNA's were extremely polite and helpful. The Whole place is a hidden diamond among the pines at the bottom of the Peaks. Great Views and friendly staff!

Response from The Peaks, A Senior Living Community
October 24, 2019Hi Rose, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It was our pleasure to care for your grandmother. We look forward to sharing your kind words with our team. Well wishes!
The Peaks is presented as a facility in which professionals care for loved ones who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Nothing is farther from the truth. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE IF THEY SUFFER FROM DEMENTIA!! After a professional from The Peaks visited the previous memory care facility where [name removed] was living and interviewed him and the staff that took care of him, our loved one was accepted with smiles and warmth and we happily moved him into The Peaks. Within 2 months time, he was asked to leave. The reason still remains a mystery as no staff member witnessed the event. A resident’s husband who said he saw [name removed] manhandle another resident made the claim. The story is unclear and conflicting as we were told the manhandled person was walking with “Bill” and then we were told that this person was in a wheelchair. The evening the event occurred, 911 were called and we were told after the fact by a caregiver, that [name removed] scared at least 4 firefighters. [Name removed] is an 83-year-old man who weighs 180lbs and must use a walker to stand. Oh… and he has Alzheimer’s disease. The caregiver made this determination because she observed the firefighters backing away when [name removed] became agitated. Her advise to them was to not back away and that they must stand their ground against him. The firefighters were exhibiting professional behavior regarding an agitated demented elderly man allowing him to calm down, whereas she did not have the training to understand this Best practice. He was then made to be taken to the ER for evaluation and was discharged several hours later. On return, he was more confused than ever. No investigation, no process, no discussion with us, the doctor from The Peaks determined he had to leave. The doctor has never met [name removed]. The Executive Director stated that she has a tenuous working relationship with this doctor. We heard from a caregiver that other residents and resident’s families are afraid of [name removed]. HIPPA violation? We observed the exact opposite response from residents and families alike. We were unable to move [name removed] immediately (we moved him within the week) and so his 83 year old wife who lives over 2 hours away was made to leave her dog home alone for two days and travel to The Peaks in order to babysit [name removed] during the day because The Peaks are understaffed. She was also made to sleep on a cot in [name removed]'s room overnight in a locked memory care floor amongst other residents. Liability? On the day of the move, the staff involved was conspicuously absent. We are very happy to be rid of this facility. We have learned that all the bells and whistles and prettiness can’t cover lack of training, patience and good care. Perhaps the ambiance is more for the family than the patient? Be sure to ask about the A La Carte charges. That’s a whole other ball of wax. Oh, one last thing… it wasn’t until [name removed] was firmly ensconced at The Peaks that we were informed that you have to provide your own toilet paper. Classy.

We had about 6 years experience with The Peaks and a family member living there. Initially it was operated in conjunction with The Museum Of Northern Arizona. Upon walking through the front entrance one might first think that is still the case. The Director was a lovely woman who was a long time flagstaff resident. Unfortunately, as I’ve been told, her elderly mother needed care in Phoenix and she moved closer to help her. Enter [name removed], the new Director. The Goodman Group, management company, possibly came about this same time as well. The warm Feeling we had in the beginning was gone. There was a lot of turnover in staff. We had always heard that The Peaks was “The Premier Senior Living Facility”. After our second family member started to decline, much communication with the nursing staff, we moved our family member to a “group home” that was recommended by the Hospice agency. We had always thought a “group home” was a step down. What a mistake that was for us! Suddenly there were 4 residents with at least 2 caregivers, often 3. We had truly personal attention. It’s sad the decline that has manifested at The Peaks in the assisted living side. Would never in good conscience suggest someone move their family member there.

Looks great but don't let looks deceive you. Poor care, poor communication, and poor case management if needed.

Please know my door is always open - feel welcome to stop by or give a call. We take pride in our highest rated quality and services, so again, I apologize for any inconvience. Beautiful place but we have been waiting for two months for an opening. They require a non-refundable $1200 deposit just to get on the "waiting list", which does not apply to the first month's rent!

Response from The Peaks, A Senior Living Community
February 1, 2016Hello Lynn, I am very sorry about this. I am continuing to try and find ways to get residents moved in as soon as possible. It is important to me that you have a positive experience. Please feel welcome to reach out to me any time. Sincerely, Patty Baca, Marketing Director
It was good, generally. The exectuive director, I don't know what's going on there, but they kept hiring people and firing people, there was a lot of turnover and we had asked for some allowance on the rent because it was really expensive and we had signed a long term lease. Not only did I get a nominal amount at one time but I could not get the executive director to communicate with me. For my mom, to know how the residents like it, she was having a ball.
