When mom first went there I would of gave all 5. Now I have moved her because there is no transportation for trips, she wouldn't eat the food, no one at the front desk after a certain time and no one there on the weekends at the desk. They had cut there activities out as well for the most part. I wouldn't recommend this place

Have been contacting the Oaks following our 14 month stay to be reinbursed our $[removed] security deposit. They just pass the buck from one to the other saying they never collected a security deposit. We have it written on our contract and were advised by the initiating marketing agent this would be reimbursed upon our decision to leave. Honestly, we were delighted to have a beautiful home and a future that would carry us both to the end of our lives, the buy in seemed well worth it. Exactly 11 months after this the owner sold the assisted living and the skilled nursing care??? Well, where do we go from independent living—nowhere!! Realizing $[removed]/month was a little high for renting a home with no future. Actually, we didn’t expect the return of the $[removed] to become such an issue since this is quite minimal compared to the investment we have lost. Not one owner, proprietor , marketing, or senior advisor will answer our request, like we don’t exist. Cannot recommend the Oaks now!!!

The facility is old and dirty. The food is high carbohydrate and low protein. There's some form of chicken at every meal. The food is overcooked. The facility is short staffed in most departments and it shows in cleanliness, food availability and service. Everyone is friendly. The activities are the best because of a wonderful director. The cleaning staff are stretched to the limit, but they try to do the best they can in a short period of time. The cost is the lowest in the area, which makes it affordable. I would give the assessment as fair or less.

My loved one is a resident at The Oaks on the Edisto. The quality of care could be better. My loved one waits too long for care i.e:, changing soiled briefs and so forth. I realize that there's a shortage on staffs, but overall they're good.

My brother currently lives at The Oaks on the Edisto. Overall, things have been very good for him here. One suggestion that I have would be to offer more activities for men. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a great tour experience all of the staff members were super friendly, this would of been a great choice for our loved one
They were amazing. They did everything they could to make Mama comfortable. The staff was very courteous. They were not only concerned about her and her needs, but they were also concerned about us as a family. The staff were absolutely amazing, including the administration. They did a great job all around.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
