As far as areas to improve on, I would say there was some major misinformation with pricing- I was given one price/amount that I was told was the total to be written on the check, and on move-in day was told that they forgot to add in the "$[removed] community fee".. after some back-and-forth, this fee was waived, but almost resulted in my parents not moving in at all. After the first few days, the dinners drastically went downhill, so much so, they started avoiding avoid the dinners all together. We were also told that there were to be hydration visits three times a day, and these barely existed once a day. Also, there didn't seem to be any verbal reminders or motivation to get them to partake in any of the activities. It seemed as if they had no idea they were happening. I wish the room would've been 100% ready for them but instead I had to track down a shower curtain, toilet paper, a working cable remote, and have the loose toilet seat tightened. My parents were also very turned off by the number of sick people walking around, coughing, which I don't think there's much the facility can do with that. On the upside, everyone was very friendly, accommodations and facilities were nice.... Read more

Response from The Neighborhood at Tellico Village
January 17, 2024Hi. I am the Executive Director and was sorry to hear there was confusion about our pricing, and that your loved one's apartment was not 100% ready when they moved in. We strive to exceed the expectations of our residents and their families in everything we do, and would welcome the chance to sit down and talk with you about your experiences -- before, during and after your loved one's transition to The Neighborhood at Tellico Village. Please contact me at the community at your earliest convenience as we are always striving to listen, learn and improve. Thanks in advance and hope we are able to chat soon.
The rooms are clean but bathrooms okay. Not comfy. Staff friendly but it was superficial. When I expressed concerns about my mom they didn't follow up. Care was not good. I had concerns about my mom's feet edema, no one ever checked on her. They talked a good talk but mostly just sat at the desk. Meals and Dining satisfied my mom. My mom was not able to participate in the activities. Cost is prohibitive for what they provide. Extra charge for med administration, extra charge if they need help showering. Many other extra charges. When my mother was there we were paying [name removed] a month and it was not worth it. I would not recommend this community to anyone. It's like everything about Tellico Village, they think everyone has money and the hallways and atmosphere at The Neighborhood was like a low class nursing home.

5 stars all the way around. We chose Tellico Village over others we saw because it just had a nice 'feel' to it?! If I was lost or unsure about anything, I always encountered someone that was willing to help or give me a hand. The residents all seemed happy too, and I felt like that was a good sign!! All staff I encountered were super helpful, professional, and kind.

I toured this facility and it was quite nice. It would have been an option for my loved one, but they only had a studio, not one bedroom.

February 28, 2023Thanks for visiting us and sharing your thoughts from your tour. We're glad to read you liked everything you saw. Please stay in touch, and let us know if you would like to be added to the waitlist for one of our larger 1- or 2-bedroom apartments,
My family was told they would take care of my allergies to certain foods and other things. Baloney. I was made ill frequently. My daughter finally started bringing in food for me. They still would serve food containing things that I was allergic to. I had to give them my own laundry soap and softener but they did use them. I lost so much weight that my family had to "rescue" me. They still charged us for an entire month although they were told that if they didn't improve I would be leaving at the end of the month. They charged me for the next month even though they had sufficient warning.

This was honestly the worst experience I've had in my life. I came in to look around one day around 5:00. There was definitely not enough RA's on the floor! It scared me because there had to be upwards of 50 residents in the facility but for some reason some of the workers said there was only two RA's. If management cannot find enough people to care for the residents then they do not need any more residents! I would not recommend this place of business!
