The Madison Senior Living Community

This place was recommended to me from A Place For Mom. Initial conversations and introductions and a walk through of facilities were fine....but......when dad was moved in, things sure changed....no communication between nurses and patients and their advocates, meaning me. They changed his medicine schedule without consulting me....and several other things too numerous to mention.

This place is nice, great accommodations, decent food. But we’ve been frustrated with how hands off they are with medical issues. They have a staff Dr that we’ve never seen in person but is managing meds and just goes by the chart. No incoming in person evaluation at all. Frustrated to say the least.

Very friendly staff. My parents did find out there is a new chef and is supposed to be good. The independent living cottages are very nice, could use a little bit larger door entrances, but totally doable for wheelchairs. We do wish they would fulfill the bi-weekly cleaning as is stated in the contract. [name removed] transports residents to dialysis and appointments. It is very friendly and empathetic. He is someone you can trust with your loved ones!

All looks fine! The facility was cleaner than others we looked at. If you have any problems, it is taken care of promptly.

He has a nice room that looks like a little apartment rather than a nursing home. I like the dining area, holiday decorations. It's homey. I don't like being pushed into using the in-house doctor or pharmacy. Sometimes the food is totally unrecognizable. He is going blind so he is messy, his room is usually very dirty.

I would say that they make you feel welcome.We picked because of the convenience of the location. I would recommend to others.

The Madison Senior Living community were welcoming and accommodating when we made the decision that mom needed to move in. They have been very kind to all of us and have taken great care of mom.

They are so kind and helpful! They are available to talk or text during the day. They helped move furniture. They even moved the furniture my parents had in their rooms to the cottage they just moved to within the community without extra fees. The facility is very well maintained. It is safe and clean. I'm a nurse, and have noticed they take excellent care of the Assisted living residents. I feel like they have a healthy variety on the menu. They even get small desserts. My parents are a little picky. Everything looks great to me, but it might be the situation. They like food during the week more. Some meals are very good. I think they would like more seasoning, but I understand why they don't use too much. I believe weekend food could be better.

Staff went out of their way to help. They had activities everyday and also on the weekends. Housekeeping was top notch. I have already recommended this facility to friends and family and will continue to.

Overall everything has been really good. There aren't many alternatives for someone on a special diet due to health issues, but that is the only perceived negative that I can think of. The staff is excellent and been very good about answering questions

I would not recommend Madison Senior Living. My dad had a bad experience there. This facility is short staffed. You have to do a lot of the care for your loved ones on your own. Watch the nurses. They ordered two kinds of medicine for my dad and I was not informed about this. Also, you have to stay on top of the washing of the clothes. This is included in the monthly price, but wasn't taken care of on a daily basis. It was just not the place for us. Also, he got COVID while he was in this facility. I was not informed. I found out when I came to visit the next day. They took three tests. I only saw one....one test was left on the counter for all to see...I'm not sure, but this could violate Hippa Law...shortly after this, I took dad out of the facility. His meals were never cut up for him...he was in pain from his fall, and pelvic fracture. He needed help at this stage.

It's been a pretty good experience for the most part. I'm sure every place has their issues. The main issue at The Madison is sometimes they're short-staffed, which kind of concerns me. But other than that, it's a pretty decent place. Considering the facility my loved one was at before, where I had to chase people down to find out what was going on, this is a big improvement. They're pretty good at keeping me informed. The staff are all pretty nice, and I haven't really had any trouble with anybody there. If I have any concerns, I can talk to them and they work through any issues with me. I've been pretty impressed with how clean they've kept things and haven't noticed anything bad that's stuck out.

The friendliness of the staff is amazing and they genuinely care about my loved one. I would recommend this community to others.

The staff are very sincere about taking care of the residents. They take the time to go to know each resident personally by name and things about them which shows me that they really care. The staff are in touch with me regularly and are easy for me to get a hold of when I call. We chose this community because of its close proximity to relatives. Also, when we toured it and other places, this community was the cleanest and had the best overall environment.

From the moment that I walked through the doors at The Madison Senior Living Community up to today, has honestly been the BEST experience for me and my parents! I had been "shopping" for an independent living situation for my parents for about a year and as soon as I stepped foot into The Madison, I knew this was "home" for them. Having to move my parents from a different state where they have lived their entire 56 years of marriage, [name removed] has been exceptional in meeting all of our needs throughout this process. They were even allowed to spend the weekend in the model cottage to get a feel for the place before we committed to them! I found the staff at Madison house to be truly wonderful people. They are extremely helpful and willing to do anything they can to make you comfortable here. Despite my mother having some misgivings about going into a senior community, she was surprised by how nice the facility was and what would be available to her. When things got difficult for my mother, they took all the necessary steps to make sure she was cared for.

Madison House did a wonderful job transitioning my sister from another facility to their place. They work hard to make everyone feel like family. I would highly recommend the Madison House for any type of assisted living needs.

My mother lived in the Madison Senior Community Center for almost a year. Over that time period we had quite a few issues with this facility. The communication and follow through of the staff and management was dreadful. She was given the wrong medications on two different occasions and underwent surgery without the staff or our family even knowing it was going to occur. The overall communication between her physicians, and the nursing staff there was always hit or miss. Her hygiene went down tremendously over this year, with the staff members dressing her in clothing that did not fit, or that had stains, or sometimes not dressing her at all, leaving her in her night clothes all day. Her clothes would come up missing and get mixed up with other residents clothing. Her room was a constant mess. Our family had to clean and sort laundry every time we visited. When there was an issue, it usually had to be addressed with management at least three to four times before it was rectified, if at all. The money a loved one pays to stay there is significant and does not match the quality of care they receive.

My husband was at The Madison House for only a few days before he passed away, but from what I saw they were a great place. They took good care of my husband and we had a good experience.
