My mom was a resident at The Lakes at Jefferson for a short time before she passed away. I think that the place was beautiful, but the management was very slow to respond to anything. I also don't think that my mom got the assistance that she needed for her age. I feel that the staff needs to be more hands on with the residents. For example: my mom needed help to get to the bathroom. After they got her there they would leave and wait outside her room with the door closed. I feel that someone should have been there with her given her age. Also, they would send in very inexperienced staff who didn't know how to handle her. Of course, I understand that with Covid staff was short and hard to find. The experienced staff was very good. The Kindred Hospice team was fantastic. Compered to her last facility, this facility was much better and I would recommend it to anyone.... Read more

Buyer beware. PT/OT are excellent. But, facility changed its scope to fill 2nd floor with memory care & clients who require prodigious amounts of personal care. Staffing has NOT increased for needs, yet Lakes assures meets PA requirement. All 2nd floor who are capable are getting short shrift & largely must take care of themselves. Baths 2x/week don't occur anymore due to staff is constantly tied up with more dependent residents. Food is lousy, nutrition poor. Weird assigned seating for meals. Scheduled menu items frequently unavailable & Lakes claims to have "just run out" after 1st floor was served first. I don't know how this place can even begin to claim that they do diabetic care, unless they mean the glucose tests + pass the meds, because dietary needs of a diabetic can't be met by the kind of meals that we catalogued in a 5 month stay. Had to clean toilet ourselves. NP breezes in and talks in public at meals, then bills for full-service office visit. Nobody checks wt or vitals.

This facility is not only beautiful, but it is staffed with professional, caring individuals. I would recommend this facility highly. I work for a home health company and we routinely see residents at The Lakes at Jefferson. The environment and care are both top-notch. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and the residents of this facility seem to genuinely enjoy living there.

The pendent our loved one received never worked so when they would push the button for assistance nobody would come. Our loved one would have to call us so we could get ahold of the staff and tell them what is going on.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is a beautiful community. The staff are friendly and accommodating. For the area you can't beat the price. They do the best they can with the food, and it's not bad.

From what I've seen when I've been there, it's been beautiful. They've had some employment issues, but I know that's the case sate wide and nationwide, and they're working over and above to compensate for that. And they still seem to get the job done. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. They have bent over backwards to make things comfortable, especially in the initial months. They made sure to talk with her and see what was on her mind and help her learn the place. They provide individual attention, and they call everybody by name. As the family, they know our names as well and have gotten in touch with us for different activities. They had a big celebration for Mom's 99th birthday, with balloons and treats, and one of the staff crocheted a lap robe for her. They're so friendly and I feel such relief that she is there. At our age, we cannot take care of her as well as they do. They've been wonderful. At the moment I think they're having kitchen staffing issues. But overall, they're a good value compared to other places we looked at. I know it's unusual to rate so highly, but I 've been very impressed.

It's a nice place to be. I enjoy being here. The apartments are large, at least the one I have is. And there's a nice open area around it, with sidewalks all the way around, which makes a nice area to walk. There's three fountains, and the walkway goes right by the big fountain. If you walk out from the dining area, you can walk right out to another of the fountains. Each independent living apartment has a patio. I haven't had any problems with the staff. If I need something, I usually get it. If I need something from the cleaning lady, she'll come and take care of it. Everybody has been very friendly. They aren't offering activities really besides bingo. From what I understand, they're going to try to offer more, but I don't know if it's going to develop or not. I would recommend this community to others. I think it's worth the money.

In our area, this community is far and above the others. I would recommend this community to others. The communication is amazing, I get emails and phone calls with updates and any covid info.

I love living here but the covid 19 is very hard on all of us so we must wear a mask and wash our hands and stay 10 feet away.

It's great. I've lived in this area my whole life. I lived up the road for 53 years. My wife is buried close. I checked other places that were cheaper, but I liked the accessibility in and out of the building. The people here are wonderful. I'm completely satisfied.

I was sold the first time I visited during the open house. I've been to many facilities to see friends and none were as clean, beautiful or homey as it is here. I said when it's time, I want to be here. I love everything about it here.

A Place for Mom has scored The Lakes at Jefferson 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
