The Heritage of Clara Barton

When trying to decide a spot for my grandfather to live, we were stuck on options. When Heritage of Clara Barton was suggested, we had a great tour and the staff were nothing but kind and went above and beyond what we needed to help get my grandfather into the situation he needed for success. We are so satisfied with the services provided in conjunction with what the facility has to offer. A clean room, good care, great food and an atmosphere that allows for my grandfather to have the resources he needs to do well and succeed. He is doing well and is socializing again and getting a space together with friends and allowing himself the ability to do well and thrive. That is all we could ask for. If you need a space for a elder loved one, this is the spot. You won't be disappointed with the care provided.

I recently toured Heritage of Clara Barton with my mom as we prepare for her move. She’s mostly independent but needs a bit of assistance and reminders, and this facility seems like the perfect fit. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the facility was spotless. During the tour, we peeked in during lunchtime—the food smelled so good. I also noticed a brand-new bus parked outside, and I was told the residents enjoy weekly outings, which is such a great perk. We’re excited to move my mom in at the start of the new year. I feel confident she’ll be well cared for here!

As a family member, what would've been a very stressful situation turned out to be the biggest sigh of relief. Our family had to act quickly and make decisions a few months ago. Every person we've met through the process has been so helpful. I'm thankful for this community for my dad and he has adjusted well. All the residents and staff are friendly and kind. The meals in the dining room are delicious. There are fun activities all day long! The building is spacious and so are the apartments.

When I first moved in I didn't know that me being an independent tenant I was not allowed to enter some parts of the building & when I didn't a staff member very rudely told me that I was not allowed. I my refrigerator was extremely loud & I had to beg to get a replacement. If I knew what I know now before I moved here I would have never moved here. It's a depressing place. The fire alarm goes off & I don't know if I should stay in my apartment or leave. They do nothing for the independent people at thanksgiving or Christmas, but they do things for the people that need assistance.

In every category I would rate them a 5. The facility is very expensive but they take Medicaid which is a program I'm going to have to start completing paperwork for soon. Very helpful director who provides lots of information. The staff has been wonderful. It's a stressful time and they made the transition easy.

For a senior living facility, there are no nice touches. WiFi doesn't work, so be prepared to pay for your ow. Food is good, but there is no dining roomSocial and Group events are limited to the assisted living facility on the higher floors. The residents are nice. Fantastic bagels are located within 400 feet, which gives this place an extra star.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Heritage of Clara Barton and the overall experience was good. Based on our experience, I would probably recommend The Heritage of Clara Barton to others.

There does seem to be quite a bit of staff turnover. Other than that, the facility is clean, all of the staff and residents have been kind, it is affordable and it is in a great location! I would definitely recommend The Heritage of Clara Barton to others looking.

My sister made the decision to move to a Senior Living facility this past year, given changes in her family support situation, and increasing concerns about the aging process. Though she experienced the normal concerns about such an important lifestyle move, she, her family and I have concluded that she was fortunate to have selected HCB. The facilities are more than adequate, but the staff, from the Administrator down have proved to be outstanding. Professional, supportive, friendly and caring all describe the staff. Every resident seems to be recognized by name, and by special needs. The more she gets to know the facility, the better she (and we) like it.

I am currently a resident at The Heritage of Clara Barton. Most of the staff are friendly, one staff member was rude to me one time. The housekeeping is good. Overall, if I knew what I know now before I moved here, I would have tried very hard to find somewhere else to live. Also, the cable service could be better. It is not 100% reliable.

What I like the most about The Heritage of Clara Barton community is I have finally found a place to call home. Based on the experience I have had so far, I would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

I would recommend The Heritage of Clara Barton to others looking for independent living. It has been a great place for me to live, although I feel it should've been a bit cheaper, especially if you want to make your own meals for yourself.

Overall I think it's a good value. They do their best to make it a pleasant experience for my loved one. The food is average. Variety is good, but it's just not to my loved one's taste. The other residents seem to be eating it without issue.

My parents have been so incredibly happy and blessed to live in this facility. The staff is clearly committed to providing the utmost care and communication. As we continue to adjust to the new normal the care provided put my husband and I at peace because of the protection my parents are receiving They also feel safe and secure living in the facility. The favorite part of the apartment for my parents is the shower, they no longer worry about falling trying to get in and out. The kitchen is the perfect size and there is a lot of closet space. They have a king size bed that fits in the bedroom as well. There is no other place we or they would want to be.

My mother is a resident and client of Heritage at Clara Barton. [name removed] and her phenomenal team provide incredible care to their clients on a daily basis. Their work during the COVID-19 Pandemic to ensure the safety, health and happiness of their residents has been nothing short of exemplary. Their record speaks for itself. [name removed] and her team are tireless in their pursuit of excellence. Always going the extra mile to help. [name removed] and her team are great listeners. Their empathy and thoughtfulness are constantly on display. Never looking for acknowledgement, they go about their business of joyfully caring for all their residents. They not only make their clients feel like family, but give peace of mind to their loved ones. Knowing my mother is in good hands around the clock has given me great personal comfort. I trust [name removed] and her team with my mother's well being. I can't think of a better way to express my gratitude and thanks. I would recommend Heritage at Clara Barton to anyone who is seeking a place for a loved one to live and be cared for.

My mom has happily resided here for two and a half years. But since COVID we have come to appreciate the caring staff here even more. They have kept my mom and all the residents safe yet active and engaged. They have been compassionate, positive and upbeat. Since March [name removed] has conducted zoom calls for family members, at first on a daily basis and for the last couple of months, twice weekly. She has been straightforward and transparent about their conditions, challenges and solutions throughout these several months. I have felt well informed and have had peace of mind. The staff remains vigilant in following COVID protocols which reflects in their success in keeping residents safe. In addition, Clara Barton is well kept and maintained inside and out. My mom’s apartment is fitted with every accommodation to make her life as independent as possible, and as safe as possible. It is a great place to live!

I could not be happier with Heritage. My mom is fairly independent, but needed some help. At Clara Barton, she has found a home. The apartment is large enough for mom to have room to move around and still feel like it's not too much to take care of. She has help cleaning the apartment, managing her meds and handling her mail. She likes the meals, but having a kitchen gives her an option to make her own when she wants. Since Physical & Occupational Therapy are available in-house, mom's doesn't need to go far. Her cognition and fitness have improved tremendously. The staff at Clara Barton has been wonderful. The nurses keep a watchful eye and contact me with any issues. The aides help with laundry, cleaning, check-ins and any other requests that I have. The Recreation department is creative and caring and do their best to keep the residents engaged. Executive Director [name removed] and Admissions Director [name removed] keep the families informed and connected and updated on all the goings on. Mom is happy and grateful to be in an environment where she feels safe and is close by.

Heritage at Clara Barton is an Assisted Living Facility that my Mom calls home. [name removed] Is much more than A Director at The Assisted Living Facility. [name removed] actually & honestly cares for all residents & goes the extra mile for their safety & happiness. [name removed] has kept the facility Covid Free for the past 6+ months. Family of residents have a daily Zoom meeting with [name removed]. Family of residents never ever needs to question the goings on at Heritage at Clara Barton. [name removed] & employees are an example of A Selfless Team.

My Mom lives at The Heritage at Clara Barton, Edison , NJ. During these stressful times [names removed] and the entire team have gone above and beyond to keep their residents safe. Their residents are their top priority always. The facility is spotless. I live 5 minutes away, before Covid I was there all the time. I never saw an unsmiling face. The families have constant communication through Zoom calls. We can reach [names removed] 24/7 through text if necessary. The Heritage at Clara Barton is a family.

During the pandemic, Clara Barton updates me with the zoom information, twice/week, since I work from home and can't participate. Always very friendly even with all the stress Covid had brought to us all. They are always very accommodating with any questions or assistance I need. My Mom has lived there for over 4 years and has recently been put into hospice. They are all very kind. I am very grateful my Mom chose Clara Barton. You will not be disappointed!
