The Harbors is a lot better than the last place my mom was in. However, the communication is spotty at best once you get into the facility. Showers are not often enough (my mom went over a week and her hair was so greasy it looked wet). We aren’t told that she needs more supplies until she’s completely out, which is frustrating. There are things I like too, though. I like that she has her own room to decorate. The place is clean and modern looking. A few of the staff that works with my mom are fabulous with her and there are other staff that don’t even say hi back when you pass them in the hall. But my mom needs 100% care and it is provided at The Harbors and overall I’m happy with the place.... Read more

We have had dad here for about 1 year now and are very happy with the cares my dad gets! The staff had some turn over in nursing but it has been pretty consistent lately and they have been great to work with! The director and director of nursing are great to talk with and keep me updated on any changes happening. I am very appreciative that the administrator gives her cell number out and takes calls on weekends. It has calmed alot of fears of mine. The food has been great as well I am overall very please with this community!

We have our loved one at The Harbors. The care has improved a lot in the last year with better staffing of the CNA's and less shortages. Also there were new hires for some major positions, including Director of Nursing, and activity director which have had positive results. We feel our loved one gets good care and the staff really likes her! It's so nice as she feels loved and cared for.

As long as [name removed] remains Executive Director of that facility, I would avoid it at all costs. The problems start from the top. Any communication with family was monitored through the executive director. Staffing was not good. Lacking in employees at the time mom was there. And when they did show up...they holed themselves up in the offices rather than checking on residents and interacting. Much turnover. My suggestion for improvement: hire a new executive director.

We moved mom in a few months ago over Christmas week, it was a very hard decision as just weeks before she was living her best life at home independent. Due to a fall and a stroke she has forever changed. The staff here accommodated our family with a evening weekend tour, the director met us on site and took over 2 hours with us answering all of our questions, even got the nurse on the phone to help answer medical questions. We looked at 2 different rooms and the director helped us measure each room and decide which one would be perfect for mom. When we left that evening we were followed up with the most sincere email and call two days later asking how we were, never asked about renting the room just that she was thinking of us. We felt so comfortable with her and the other staff we met that evening we decided to move forward it felt right! 2 months later we are so happy with our decision, mom is happy, she has made some great friends! We are very happy with our decision!

My mother chooses not to participate in activities and she's not eating much either. Based on the experience we have had so far with The Harbors Senior Living, we would recommend this community to other families.

The staff mainly the aids are extremely rude and do not like to do their jobs and would lie about what they did during the day. They would have trouble getting a nurse on duty to be able to pass out meds. The kitchen forgets to bring peoples food up all the time. [name removed] the manager is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. She had us paying for care package that their staff doesn't even do and she couldn't explain the charges when I asked. They have a bus for appointments but the staff couldn't figure out the ramp, the driver was never contacted ahead of time so we were late and missed the appointment. Also the driver did not know how to secure a wheelchair so when she hit the brakes my mom almost fell onto the floor.

It took us forever to find the best place for mom, we had a list of our top 5 and everytime we kept coming back to the harbors that really stood out! The resident testimonials and dining with the residents was nice to experience before deciding. We felt the attention mom needs and deserves would be best suited at the harbors. We are thrilled with our decision!

Our families overall experience so far has been pretty good - management can be slow to respond. Our experience is atypical as mom was only there ~3 weeks before passing. Yes, for a more inexpensive memory care I think they are a reasonable choice.

I would like to take a moment to share my experience and express my utmost satisfaction with the exceptional at the harbors! As a family member of a resident, I have been consistently impressed with the level of care, attention, and compassion shown towards my husband. From the moment we walked through the doors, their warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel like we were part of a big family. Their professionalism and genuine dedication to providing the best care possible are evident in every interaction. The management on staff are always available and attentive to the needs of the residents. From medication management to regular check-ups, they go above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of my husband! We are very pleased and excited to be a part of this community

We took a tour of The Harbors Senior Living of Fridley during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was good, we had a good tour. The cleanliness and friendliness were good, also.
As I reflect on the past two years that my loved one has spent at this community, one word comes to mind: exceptional. From the very first moment we stepped through those doors, we were embraced with genuine warmth and compassion. It quickly became evident that The Harbors was more than just a facility—it was a true home. One of the standout features that sets The Harbors apart is the incredible range of activities they offer. There is never a dull moment for the residents, thanks to engaging group outings and stimulating in-house events. The Harbors is a place where joy and care thrive. The wide range of engaging activities, the unwavering dedication of the staff, and the overall atmosphere of warmth and compassion create a haven for its residents. I am immensely grateful for the incredible experience my loved one has had at The Harbors and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of a top-notch assisted living facility.

I've been a resident here at The Harbors in Fridley, Minnesota for 15 months. When I first arrived it was a very tough transition for me. The friendly caring staff was patient & helpful as I slowly adjusted to my home away from home. It was, however, the new Activities Director who was able to get me out of my room & participating in activities. She keeps us busy with live music, dance school performances, bingo & Daily craft and game events. We have a Resident Council which has improved communication between the staff and residents that's resulting in many positive changes. The Harbors has a lot to offer any personality.

Mom and our whole family are extremely happy she is living at the Harbors! I could cite many reasons why we feel that way (e.g. the caring friendliness of staff, quality of food...etc.) But here, I'd like to highlight one of the main reasons we're so pleased- the Activities Director, [name removed]. She organizes a wide variety of fun and interesting activities. She brings in high-quality, outside entertainment for music, arts and crafts, road trips for lunches at special restaurants, games and the list goes on. She does this all the while encouraging, uplifting and befriending the residents! No longer does Mom sit in her room alone. She participates in virtually every activity, has several friends and truly enjoys living here. Thank you, [name removed] and the Harbors' staff- It's great having Mom "back!"

My aunt moved into Harbors after living on her own well into her 90's. Every time I visit her, the staff is so friendly and I can see that they take great care of her. One day we got there as a group was playing Bingo. My aunt told me [name removed] always plans such great activities and events... Concerts, flower arranging... She loves living there, and I am so grateful she Is there!

The Harbors of Fridley provided care for my significant other during the final year of his life. He could be difficult but the staff was overall very able to provide the care he needed. In addition a variety of activities were available — music, crafts, games and more. Although he did not always participate I was able to enjoy some of these with him.
