Walnut Grove has been the best decision I have made for my mother's care. In the later stages of Alzheimer's, my mother is in a warm atmosphere that does not isolate her from others. She is allowed to interact with all residents and can roam freely inside and out. I cannot say enough in words how much we appreciate Walnut Grove's philosophy for assisted care. We cared for her at home for many years, but it came time that she needed more than we were capable of. Both Mom's and our family's quality of life have improved greatly since she moved to assisted living. I have a sense of peace knowing that she is getting exactly the kind of care she needs and deserves here at Walnut Grove. I really would recommend Walnut Grove to anyone looking to place a loved one. I interviewed 6 places before choosing Walnut Grove for my mother. The care services have been above reproach. The staff is very hands on, very helpful and friendly. I get calls if there is a problem, they arrange for doctors appointments and I really appreciate that part of their program. The price may seem high but you get the quality you pay for in everything you do in this world. Connie, the administrator, is very hands on, she knows her job and does it expertly. And she is great with the people under her care. I must say in this review that A Place For Mom did not assist me in this endeavor, it seems that the person in Modesto was on vacation and failed to communicate with me, so I proceeded on my own and found the very best place, Walnut Grove. Have confidence in your choice if you choose to have Walnut Grove for your loved one. P.S....also I had the recommendation of my husbands cousin that her mother, in the past, was well cared for.

I like the staff; they are great. They are very helpful, they're always willing to take our input, they've been helpful to us on alot of things, very pleasant to work with. The location is close to a family member, which is very helpful. It's a great value for the money.

With the help of A Place For Mom we were able to find a a great home at Walnut Grove in Modesto, Ca. for my mother-in-law which has memory care. They are very nice there and have all kinds of activities to the seniors to help with their memory loss. The food looks good too.

We toured this location when we were looking into options for our loved one. This was a very nice looking community and we liked what we saw during the tour. However, the community was slightly larger than what we wanted for Mom, it would have been difficult for her to get around. A majority of the residents of the community were memory care patients, and we were looking for a more social atmosphere for Mom.

They're pretty damn good. My grandma has been in there 3 weeks. The care services are great. She won't do the activiteis yet, but they've got something to do everyday. The only thing they could probably improve on is I think they're just a little under-staffed. The girls that are there are very good but I think they could use one more. I'm very happy with what they've got. I've looked at a lot of places and I have to say, it's pretty damn good. I feel really good about her being in there.

A friend lived here for several years. She was very happy and they were good to her. The stars are based on if I were to live there--I want to be at home.

I was very pleased to have come to this facility. I found for a facility houseing forty three people, it was pleasent, no orders any where. A very clean facility lots of lighting and windows in common areas. The Director was very helpfull in giveing me information that I might need to know. I was very comfortable with the surroundings, nicely decorated and very roomie spaces for ease of getting around of patients. Reasonabley priced and within the budjet I was looking for. Residents look well cared for clean and comfortable in this facility.

A Place for Mom has scored The Grove 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
