The Elms Retirement Residence

Wonderful caring community. We picked this community because of the location and size also staff to resident ratio and the comfortable home like setting with memory care options on same campus.

The Elms Retirement Residence is a beautiful place and my mom is so happy there! The facility is a beautiful and the staff is excellent.

The Carriage House at The Elms has far exceeded our expectations. Although diagnosed with Alzheimer's, our mother is still fairly high functioning, so we worried that perhaps it was too soon for a memory care unit, and that she would be unhappy. Mom loves her new home! The care she is receiving is outstanding. For us, the peace of mind, knowing that she's safe and happy is priceless. We recommend The Elms to anyone who is looking for the highest level of care for thier loved one.

My Mom is currently a resident at The Elms Retirement Residence and everything has been great. The staff is very very good. It's a small facility, so each person gets a lot of attention. They were great at helping my sister and I adjust, too. There is a lot of guilt that goes along with the move. They are always accommodating to me because I travel 5 hours to see Mom once a month and sometimes I get there early. The food is very good because my Mom was very thin when she got there, but she has a little belly now!

The Elms Retirement is in a great location for us, it is very close to where we live which makes visiting convenient. The meals and dining experience get 6 plus stars, we have had no complaints whatsoever with this community. The value for the money is a relative question but if you can afford it the value is great. We have already recommended this community to families and we will continue to do so

We really like the smaller scale of the community, it is a very quiet setting. It is very well decorated, nice contemporary and classy looking. The outside of the building is old Victorian styled, it really is a well cared for facility. The location is downtown which is nice. Our loved one was only there for a few months, and the day to day staff and administration was just wonderful. They helped us get our loved one into a hospice program at a very fast rate. It was a very emotional time for us and they were always very caring and attentive to our needs. We have nothing but good things to say.

The community is kept clean. The staff seems to go above and beyond to keep an eye on the people that live there. They do offer activities to the residents. Definitely a good value for the price.

The Elms is a great place for Mom and or Dad. The staff is accommodating to needs and wants. The food is excellent and always nicely served by a great group of people. Many activities for the residents. Always decorated for seasonal holidays. Bright with many common areas should your loved one be inclined to socialism.

The Elms was a lovely place. Luckily, they had the perfect room in the perfect location available. During our tour we witnessed many of the residents out and about and engaged in conversation with each other. It has a nice ‘homey’ feel to it.

The staff are wonderful. There is always a head nurse and enough staff to be attentive to all the residents. The food is good and they offer a lot of healthy options. They always have something going on for the residents. The residents seem happy with each other. The community is clean, small and quaint. I would recommend this community.

I recently placed my mom in Chestnut Cottages. This is a memory care unit at the Elms. The Elms is a respected local business that has proven to be an excellent choice. The facility is beautiful and the staff does an amazing job. I am a retired senior citizen police advocate that assisted many families over the years. When it came to dealing with my own mom, all my experience "went out the window" due to my emotions. I appreciated the caliber of the Elms more than ever. This is a difficult decision for any family. Rest assured this is a great choice.

Excellent in every way

Wonderful, friendly community. The staff was very nice and involved in the resident's lives. Nice downtown area for outings and activities. Had all the amenities my grandmother would need. Separate memory care facilities.

During my tour of the Elms Assisted Retirement Campus, I met the nurses and the staff. The place was nice and clean. The tour guide was very friendly and took me around the entire building. We chose another community because of location, but this was a good option.

Our tour of this community was a nice one. Everyone was very welcoming and kind. The community looked great, everything was very well maintained. The staff was very kind and helpful. They were very knowledgeable and informative. This is a nice community with friendly people.

Chef is wonderful at making sure my mom is happy with her meals and making adjustments if needed. The staff is very kind and always helping my loved one with her bathing and morning hygiene. They offer a great happy hour at 4:00 pm for all of the residents, and have a great variety of activities. They often hold events for the families to be involved in , I am amazed by this community

Overall we're satisfied with how things have turned out at The Elms. It's a nice looking place, the people are friendly, and they do a good job looking out for the residents.

My father spent the last couple of months of his life in The Elms Carriage House which is for seniors with dementia. The care he received was wonderful - professional, friendly and very personal. The staff cared to know my father as a person and we're very engaged with all the patients. What impressed me even more though was the care shown for my mother as my father's daily visitor. The staff always made sure she was well fed, emotionally supported and frequently asked after her own well being. I highly recommend this program to families searching for care!

The first thing that sold me on The Elms was the layout, I love the layout of the Carriage House. I love the staff, the staff is wonderful. The food is good there too. My sibiings and I visited my mom her everyday last week and we all are very happy, it's a great place.
