Review for The Cottage at Litchfield Hills

It's a very nice, comfortable place where they try to cater to the patient and there family, as [name removed] did last week for my wife's birthday party, she was very helpful. I'm just happy we were able to get her back from Arkansas to a place close to home that she is comfortable at and we feel we made a good decision and are happy to have her there.... Read more

We Hoped For A Positive Experience

My additional comments would be that unless you are in perfect health, don't go to The Cottage. My mother passed away on [date removed]. At the very end I got her out of there. When we were given a tour it was made to seem like there were varying levels of care and that if my mother needed more care, she would receive more care, but that was not the case... They allowed her to fall repeatedly and she must have been at the hospital with no exaggeration. 20 times for numerous falls, UTIs and This is the number because they just let her sit in a wheelchair all day long, a huge bedsore

Good for seniors in perfect health

If your loved one is in perfect health then this facility maybe a good fit, but if your loved one has any health issues or mobility issues it is not a good choice. I put my mother at the Cottage at Litchfield Hills to try to keep her safe, but sadly she is not. She fell at least 8 to 10 times, and had a couple of bouts of severe dehydration in just over a 2-month period resulting many trips to the hospital. Ultimately I had to bring in additional help from an outside agency since the Cottage at Litchfield Hills is understaffed. The staff is very friendly and helpful but there are not enough people to help all the residentswhen they need help.

Great Option for Memory Care

It has been a great experience. The staff is very kind and engaging! My mom is in the memory care unit, and they keep her very busy. They know what her interests are and try to include her in activities that would make her feel important. They give her enough support but let her be independent also. My mom loves the food, which is great since she can normally be a pretty fussy eater...

Community Tour

We had a good tour at The Cottage of Litchfield Hills. I thought it was an excellent facility and on an even par with the other places that we toured. Because they were all so similar to one another, my family member simply chose based on her preferred location.

Clean, Helpful, Friendliest Community

The community is very clean. The staff keeps the family updated with any questions or concerns about our loved one. The staff and management is very friendly. My loved one is always busy with activities, and this is what I want for my loved one. The community even sent a video of my loved one exercising to me.

I'm feeling settled because my mother is feeling settled.

The staff is really friendly and helpful. Initially they had some trouble working out her medication schedule, but after a couple of weeks it got ironed out. And now everything is running smoothly. My mother is very happy there and feels like it's home.

Probably the best of what's available.

The activities are the biggest area for improvement. They don't stick to the activities listed on the calendar. And activities tend to be geared toward the lowest functioning residents. So my mom is struggling, because she's not low functioning and is bored. They don't do enough to take them out of the facility. It seems like they take the first floor people out and about, and the memory care people they just leave there. And that's not the staff's fault per se, probably a management issue. The nursing staff is phenomenal. The CNAs could use a little work. Oftentimes when I go there I see all five of them just sitting there, but the nurses are going and working like crazy all of the time. It's a beautiful facility, and she has a really nice apartment. The food is good too, and not institutional food at all.

My father has been a resident now for one year. Staff goes beyond, caring, and always updating me with all health issues immediately. They have made both my father's full something that is very important to me. During covid, always receiving email updates with the residents safety the main concern. Did a wonderful job during this past year, health issues. Looking forward his second year as resident, thank you

Resident friendly

We chose The Cottage because the recommendations for this facility were very good so we went with this one. The room sizes here are very good. The staff members are also great with communication with everything that has been going on. They are very accommodating and friendly as well and fast with their response time. It has seemed that they are short staffed when it comes to serving meals, so they could use improvement on that. I would recommend to others looking.

Atria Litchfield review

Overall cleaning maintenance is good, but the rooms at this community could use a little more attention. The dining rooms and other main places are kept very clean. The staff is great, we looked at a couple different places and this community is pretty reasonably priced, you get what you pay for. They have entertainment groups come in and play for the residence. The food at Atria is pretty good. They do offer different sizes in rooms, such as studios, one bedrooms and two bedrooms.
