Overall experience was great! [name removed] was great to work with and dad was so looking forward to getting involved with the activities and meeting the other residents. The common areas are well kept and tidy. The apartment was freshly updated with paint, carpet and flooring. Friendliness of staff - I dealt with only [name removed] and she was wonderful!!! No care as it is independent living. They offer lunch but dad didn't opt in to it. Activities were available and many seemed well attended. [name removed] was wonderful to work with. My dad resisted moving, but she was faithful to contact us whenever there was an opening. Dad decided he was ready and when he went to look at what was available, she encouraged him and told him about the amenities and social events. She answered all of his questions and she was/is wonderful to work with. It has been a wonderful experience.

The staff at The Commons are very friendly and professional. There is not an option for free housekeeping, the tenants pay for that. The staff always communicates with the family. The move-in process was simple. For the meals, the staff and tenants both cook the meals, every lunch and every Friday. I would recommend the facility to other people. The location of the building is convenient to everything in Huntsville.

Since I have been here such a short time, I haven’t been able to get too involved in the community activities. Everyone I have met so far have been so friendly and inviting which makes me excited for living here!

I would tell others looking that the tenants are very friendly, the apartments are new, clean, and the overall physical features of the building are classy, and modern. I would recommend The Commons to others looking for Senior Living.

From what I saw of the commons, this seemed like a nice place to stay. Everything was clean and staff and residents were friendly. Though it did not quite fit my needs, as I preferred not to live in apartments, The Commons seemed like a nice place to live.

My mother in law just moved into The Commons last week and the whole process was very easy and enjoyable. Their prices are much more reasonable than another place she had looked at, and she is able to afford living here without outside support from other family members. We loved the "al a carte" process of being able to choose which services she needed rather than assuming she needed them all and charging for everything. Granted, she has only been there one week, but we saw her there yesterday and she was very happy and getting settled nicely. (Note: her AT&T cell phone does not get very good service there, so she may have to change to another provider, but that is no reflection on The Commons at all).

The way it was designed is great for someone like my moms age. She would need the security. I feel secure for her to be there, people cant go in without a keycard or a code and that makes it's secure in my book. The residents have a card but the family get a code . Just not anyone can get in, that makes me feel secure. Also why I chose the facility. They keep it exceptionally clean in and outside , very tidy.

A Place for Mom has scored The Commons 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
