Was impressed with this facility, but had a few concerns regarding their lock-down Alzheimer's unit

My dad is doing fine in this really nice community. It is clean and I have not seen any problems with the cleanliness or hygiene. The courtyard is kept clean too. The staff are very nice people. They help out with anything the residents need. They are a good set of staff and we have no issues with them. The meals are good and I believe they have substitutions.

My loved one is a resident there for almost a year, they love it here. The staff is friendly, attentive an caring from the housekeeping staff to the head nurse. I know that my family member is well taken care of on a day to day basis. The Inn is clean and well maintained. I cant say enough good things about Chapel Grove Inn. This is a wonderful place to reside.

My mother spent three months in the lockdown unit because it was the only room available, then watched as countless others moved in to rooms she should have had offered. Room not vacuumed one time in three months. Ants in room. Sloppy care. Almost [removed] because of "an accidental fall" and staff did not call emergency squad. Worst diet I have ever seen. Gave a diabetic carbs and sugar all day long, no fresh fruit or vegetables or salad or milk. Watched them "park" people and ignore their calls for help. I was there daily with Mom and saw more than I can type here. Do not take a loved one there. I rated this a zero but the website made me at least click on .5. It isn't even that good. Seriously, do not trust someone you love to their "care".

Love this place! The amenities, atmosphere, activities and staff are world-class. I am very happy that Chapel Grove is in my community, and I didn't have to move my mother-in-law out of town to find an assisted living facility of this caliber. Very happy that Chapel Grove offers both Assisted Living as well as a more attentive "Special Care" unit in the same building. Should my mother-in-law's needs change to the point she needs more help, I don't have to shop for a new home for her.

We were warmly welcome when we returned to our community - even after we had first declined the same community. I believe that we were better applicants as we had gone through the exercise with another community.

They weren't very understanding of her adjustment time. They are a good place, but I feel like they pushed us to where they wanted us to be. They let her refuse her bathing, more than I would like. I would like to see more effort to get her to do what needs to be done, not that they should force her but, don't let her off the hook that easily. They have different activities and things going on but I don't know that she participates a lot. They have the best or one of the best reputations in our area. They are a very clean and beautiful community.

My mom was only there for 30 days. She ended up using it as a respite stay. They made sure they had the accurate information for her medications and made sure she was seen by their physician quickly. They have 4 or 5 local doctors that rotate through and come to their facility once a week. They were extremely accomodating with my mom's needs. They were wonderful. I wish she was still there. My father took her out against everyone's recommendations.

She seemed to like this one best. 24 hr. nurses and aides. Snack cart and kithcnenett w/microwave. Weekly cleaning and laundry. Daily towels and TP provided. Large area with many public areas and places for family activities. Craft/excersise room. Walking trails and gazebo outside, but not contained. Doors only locked at night, but monitoring system for wanderers. Can have meals w/mom for $8. Beautician on grounds. Pedicures available. Chauffer service to Dr. appts. for $15.

I liked the interior but it's hotel-like & not home feeling. I worry that food quality & selections are sub-par. Rooms, kitchens small for the fees. Not many activities available. Didn't see many residents around.Wonder if were in their rooms for a reason. No one in beautiful courtyards.
