The Carlstone Independent 55 Living

My father was very impressed from the start of our appointment to see the Carlstone. It seemed well kept, and clean. The staff was friendly and the pricing was reasonable. After 3 and a half months he is still pleased. He likes the food and the social activities and the convenience of the location. I am grateful to A Place for Mom giving us the recommendation!

Overall service went downward as the 1st year moved on & eventually most all original people including us left

The staff is rude and seems to always be changing something or limiting something that was originally promised to the residents. The turnover rate seems to be pretty high, which correlates to their attitudes. The actual space itself is wonderful (except they have too many rugs.) It's clean and modern and smells wonderful. 5/5 there!

The facility is very nice and relatively new. Management could be improved and be more respectful of elderly tenants such as providing alternate transportation to doctor appointments when van is in the shop, keeping public restrooms clean and in working order, improving the kitchen and food preparation. The food service is often very slow and the portions are often tiny. Sometimes the food is either overcooked or lacks flavoring. They do provide plenty of activities and games. They have a nice salon on site.

I like carlstone. the food v is good mostly. The place is clean the staff is friendly. I like the activities. I enjoy the movies. The card games are fun. The people here are friendly the Bible study is good.

I will tell them it's a pretty nice place the manager the one that runs a place could be a little more friendlier and helpful and the food is awful.

The staff has been wonderful. Everyone has been accommodating, and easy to reach. When she needed light bulbs changed, they came out right away and made the change. They have made mom feel like she matters and she is a part of the community. .

My loved one is a resident at The Carlstone Independent 55 Living. The only good thing I can say about this facility is that it is cheaper than others, the facility is very clean and it smells nice. The owners, however, care more about their paycheck than they do about the residents. They are SO RUDE. The communication is terrible all around. The kitchen staff is always changing. The food quality is okay, but the variety is terrible. The quality of their salad bar is embarrassing.

We chose The Carlstone because it was the one she liked the most, right when she saw it she knew. The apartment sizes vary, they have 2 and even maybe 3 bedroom apartments available. She has a one bedroom and it is a good size. Not super thrilled with activities, Bingo and cards it is not her cup of tea. They do have music come in and she enjoys that a lot. The food is good but it is bland. It is a very open floor plan. The staff are very accommodating with most things. For examples when she has been sick and they bring up food for her and things like that. They do also have Pilates and that was a big draw for her. There is an exercise room and other exercise classes too. You are also able to add on additional care if needed.

The staff is wonderful and caring. The facility is very clean. It’s beautiful. My mother in law is so happy since moving to Carlstone. We were very concerned that she wouldn’t be agreeable to moving but she toured Carlstone and loved it!

I toured numerous places before moving my mother from NY to Oklahoma. The staff was so incredible and the facility is beautiful!! They have everything she could possibly need. I knew I couldn’t pass this place up. Thank you so much for everything you do.

They are very attentive to the elderly but they give them enough privacy and autonomy to allow them their dignity. I picked this community because, of the overall feeling when touring and it was a favorable location.

I like living here even though I miss the country. My room offers plenty of space and the location is convenient. The staff works hard to accommodate the residents. I enjoy the entertainment and meeting new friends.

I have a wonderful experience. This is my first time to live in a Senior Community. The apartments are large and we have have house keeping every week, we have 3 meals a day , we have transportation to take us shopping and to our doctors appointments. We celebrate and have parties and lots of fun activities. We also have Bible Study every week! I’m so happy I choose to live here. Carlstone has a more of a home feeling to me! I love it here!!!!

My mother in law was moving to Oklahoma from her home in Los Angeles. She loved all that Carlstone offered and felt right at home. She has had so many famiky members visit her new place over the Thanksvonf holiday to show off her new apartment home. She has her Christmas tree up in her place and is all settled into her new home! So far she has loved all the activities, the great meals and the live music on Fridays. She had used the complimentary transportation and she has gone around [name removed] when she has had errands to do.

I have been at Carlstone for a year, and it has brought me a great deal of happiness. The manger [name removed], and owner [name removed], work so hard to meet any need you might have. They strive for your comfort and happiness. It’s the best of both worlds, there’s always activities going on to get involved with, or you can enjoy the quietness of your apartment. I highly recommend!!

Wonderful place to live the staff is awesome the food is fantastic it's clean it's new and the residents are all wonderful people. I am very happy that I moved here I'm glad I made the move you're going to love this place it's a great place to live

The Carlstone is a family owned business and they truly take care of your loved one as if it were their own. It is located in a great area in Norman, Oklahoma with many shopping and eating in close proximity. The Carlstone is a beautiful facility... we love the chef and café and the theatre room which also serves as a tornado shelter! They are staffed with truly amazing people all around. Our mother was reluctant but really does love her new apartment home.

The square footage for the money was very good and the best for us. The size of the apartment living is great. It is lovely and decorating is very nice as well. I highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones, and have already recommended the community in the past to friends. The portion size of meals could be a bit larger. Most of the meals are pretty good. It would be nice to see the consistency of items offered to all the residents and to make sure they have enough quantity of items.
