The Broadmoor is a converted hotel that is in an old building. The location is very nice, but the rooms were grim.
I rate them a five on everything except friendliness. On that they get a ten!!!!! My loved one's circumstances were such she was there a little more than two months. It was an interim stop between acute care and home. They knew that. She was sort of a grump, but everyone treated her well--staff and residents. I am grateful to The Broadmoor for my loved one's positive experience.

The Broadmoor is probably THE best place you can go. yes, there are other places out there, but what they have to offer - even the staff are alone, it's worth being here. the staff care about every single person, and they show that through their words and actions. there are so many activities and things to do, I can hardly find the time to sit down! when I lived in my old apartment alone, I really didn't do much; I would often sit at home all day. just this week alone, I've spent four days on different outings. if there aren't any outside activities/outings, they do offer things to do inside. seriously, you're not going to find anything better!

All the staff were kind, caring, and friendly to the families and residents. There was a lot of variety of food for meals for the residents. The rooms are a little bit on the smaller side; however, other communities had smaller rooms than here. There was at least a large atrium available for the residents. They have a cafeteria to eat in. This was a positive experience for us.

We chose the Broadmoor because it was the right price and the location was close to me. The apartment sizes here are pretty small, but adequate for his needs. The best part about the community was the staff members, they were all very helpful especially during the move. I would recommend based on needs.

[Name removed] was kind to show us the facilities and offer us a taste of the lunch too. The facility location is excellent. It is like a senior residence to get a peace of mind. They are refreshing the entrance. Hope they will continue to enhance the building as it does need updated. There is no long term commitment and the rent is reasonable.

My mom has lived at the Broadmoor for 10 months now, after her partner died and we moved her up to San Francisco to be near us. The staff is very kind and loving. She likes the activities, it is well located for public transportation and has a nice garden patio. The food is good. It is month to month, and is well priced for San Francisco. Overall, I recommend it.

Didn't like the residential hotel' arrangement for my mother-in-law. The rooms were small, and the place was dark. Too much money for too little [removed] SF in a nutshell!

I went. It is $2600 for one room, sort of a small studio. They said the people are very active, which mom is not. There is a lot to do in the city, and a large Jewish population. They go to the JCC for activities. Moving her here wouldn't save much, but would put her 6 blocks from me. She would hate having only one room, but we have to consider that as an option. Even so, we would not have enough$$$$$.

Broadmoor is very different then what I am used to but it is close to my family. They are located in downtown San Francisco; I am more used to smaller cities and towns. The food is wonderful and everyone is kind. It is a well educated community that I am find I have things in commons with other residents. The staff is concerned and caring for their residents. The community is very clean. It is not handicap friendly; there are no ramps so you have to negotiate stairs. I would recommend this community to people who do not have to worry about stairs and negotiating them. Overall I am happy being here at Broadmoor.

It's just better than all others building in good repair, landscaping Friendliness is 10 out 5 It's been absolutely the perfect thing that I was looking for - it's been more than I was looking for. I came up here just to get out of the Valley for a month, and they've been terrific.

Very nice old historic building. But.... not a possibility for my Mom. Might recommend it for someone else. Ken was really great.

Entered lobby and didn't get the right feel. Felt too old, needs updating. Entrance isn't very inviting. Mom didn't care for the tattoo guy at the desk. Called to cancel tour.

A Place for Mom has scored The Broadmoor 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
