Our experience with the Bluffs was very positive, their staff was very dedicated to their residents (my father in law), his care was exceptional. The meals were good but they sometimes ran out of an item and would have to substitute something else which is generally fine but he (my father in law) was not good at substitutions. Caring, dedicated staff, exceptional nursing director, quality programs, immaculate facility, safe and loving environment for residents.... Read more

October 30, 2024Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us. We're grateful to hear that our team’s dedication and care made a difference for your father-in-law. We’re continuously working to enhance meal options and appreciate your feedback on substitutions. It's our privilege to provide a secure, welcoming environment, and we're honored to be a part of his journey. Thank you for choosing The Bluffs of Flagstaff!
They are very friendly. My Mom is in independent living so they don't do much for her but I know she is safe. If she needed help it is there. Biggest complaint is price and it keeps going up . As soon as my housing situation allows I will bring my Mom to live with me.

August 22, 2024Thank you, Mary, for sharing your mother's experience with us. Our team is glad to provide your mother with a trusted, helpful community each day. I was my mother's sole caregiver for 2 1/2 years before I took her to The Bluffs. Her dementia was pretty advanced but we formed an extremely special bond during that time, until I finally couldn't give her the care she needed. The Bluffs kind of saved my sanity by taking over. My mom died there on [date removed] . The entire staff from Sales to Wellness to Activities to Caretakers were such an unusually gifted and loving group of people, they eased my impossible "burden" and my guilt and took to my mom like I thought only I could. Even at the very end, they swabbed her mouth with dark chocolate, her favorite, and dressed her body in a nice outfit. The Bluffs was the right place at the right time with an unexpected amount of love and support. My mom was 101 years old when she died, but she was ageless and timeless and they all treated her like gold.

August 13, 2024Sue - Thank you for sharing your heartfelt experience. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are honored that our team at The Bluffs could provide the support and care your mother needed during such a challenging time. It’s our mission to offer compassionate and personalized care, and we’re grateful that we could ease your burden and honor your mother’s remarkable life. Your feedback means a great deal to us.
All 5s other than meals and dining service, I would give that a 4. The meals are healthy and taste fine with many options, but meals are frequently served lukewarm, instead of being hot. Portions are small. They are ok for my dad, but I wonder about others with a more hearty appetite. We would definitely recommend this community to other families.

October 23, 2023Donna, thank you so much for taking the time to publicly recognize our team! We appreciate you sharing your experience with our community.
My mom is currently a resident at The Bluffs of Flagstaff. My only comment is the food is delicious, but they run out of stuff all the time. The servers don't know and then they just bring you something else without asking if you would like it. Oh and the staff are great, but as with everywhere else, they are short staffed and many of the employees are trying to do 2 and 3 jobs. Overall, my mom is very happy at The Bluffs of Flagstaff.

Response from The Bluffs of Flagstaff Senior Living
September 25, 2023Mary, thank you for sharing your thoughts about The Bluffs of Flagstaff. We're delighted to hear that your mom enjoys the delicious food and appreciates the great staff. We value your feedback and will certainly take your comments about inventory and staffing into consideration as we continually strive to enhance the experience for our residents and their families.
As far as value goes, I give it a 4 because we find out as we go that some services we expected to find are "dependent on availability", and some they won't do at all. In comparison to other facilities in the area. The Bluffs is much more affordable. The facility is very clean and inviting, but I feel like there could be more attention paid to the cleanliness of his room. My biggest problem has been with the business end of things. I receive invoices just a few days (a couple times, hours) before they are due and have to scramble to pay them before late fees are charged. When my dad first moved in, twice I had to go downstairs to pay bills while I was trying to get him settled in his room because "we forgot to charge you for this, and if you don't pay it today, there will be a late fee. Oh, and I will only be here another 45 minutes". I didn't have my checkbook with me, and there was no time to go get it. I was told I could pay the bill through the portal which I did not have set up. It was set up for me and I made the two separate payments with my VISA and then found out when I got the receipt that I was charged over [fee removed]for each of the two transactions because I used my VISA. I was never told there would be an extra fee for something I had to do because I was given last minutes notice. The late fee would have been cheaper. They did eventually refund those extra charges after I complained. I was told they would invoice for the next month's rent by the 15th. I was invoiced for July on [date removed] and for August, yesterday [date removed]. Payment is due on the first. They do have an automatic payment system set up so payments can automatically be withdrawn from your bank, but I don't want to use it, because, at this point, I don't trust the accuracy of their invoices. I want to see the invoice before I pay it. On the whole, my dad is very happy living at The Bluffs, and says the care givers are very helpful. We've had a few issues with my dad's physical limitations and his 98 year old decision making skills (or lack thereof), but Tammy, the wellness coordinator, has been phenomenal in working with me to get things sorted out.

The staff is wonderful and most caring. We felt at home the first day, and I would especially point out [name removed] in Memory Care, and [name removed], who oversees it all. My husband unfortunately went downhill quickly, so we were only there for two weeks. However, in that time, he needed tremendous care. [name removed] thought outside of the box and allowed us to do what was necessary to make him comfortable. It was a lot of work, many changes to medications, and they all went with the flow. I can't say enough about them. As far as communication with the family, it could not have been better. [name removed] was available by phone at all hours of the night and weekends. I couldn't have asked for better. The food was exceptional, and again, the thoughtfulness of the staff was so evident. They would make sure I was eating and would leave food for me in my husband's fridge if I had to be away at a mealtime.
