If we could give a higher rating for the friendliness of the staff, I would. Overall a great facility and great fit for mom. Overall a very nice environment, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and bright, and there is enough to keep residents busy but not overwhelmed. I do wish there were some cultural outings, maybe once a month going to a music or theatre event, etc. they do bring people in occasionally and that is very enjoyable for the residents. The biggest downside is the food. It is mediocre, some very good meals and some terrible meals. The chef does meet with residents on some regular basis and always works to improve, but it is not where it should be. Thankfully mom can supplement or cook for herself as needed.

Terrabella Lake Norman is wonderful! It's the perfect place for my mom. It's an incredibly welcoming community. Everybody on staff, including maintenance, knew her name within two days. They're happy to be there and friendly to everyone. It's a really pleasant atmosphere to live - I've never seen anything like it. The food is not great - (there are not enough choices). But the chef is open to having meetings with the residents, so it is improving. Overall, I would highly recommend Terrabella!

I feel that the sales person misrepresented the place. The food is terrible (ask any resident), management is mediocre. My loved one has made friends, but if that hadn't happened, we were on the verge of moving out. Also-lots of random fire drills with no explanation, people have come into my loved ones room unannounced. We are making it work, but aren't the biggest fans.

The lady who showed me around was very friendly and was great with following up with me after the tour. The facility itself was nice. For us, the reasons we did not go with them was because they area they had for smoking was kind of remote and further away than she would have liked and also the location of the facility. It is not easy access with all of the traffic if you live further away.
I would recommend that you have a very clear handover of what your expectations are for your elderly parents, and make sure the staff understand that early. That was a bit tricky for us at the start, but it's okay now. It's just important out communicate exactly what your expectations are for your loved ones as far as hygiene, showers, all that sort of stuff. Once they understood, I've been happy with the staff. And I'm happy with the facility itself as well.

This community was nice but it just happen to be in an area that would not work out for all of my family. We had to go with another community that would work better for everyone.
What stuck out to us about Terrabella Lake Norman was the friendly staff members and the spacious size of the individual apartments. It is a really nice place, all of the people here (staff and residents) are so friendly. My mother went in not so well and had a lot of needs and the care has been outstanding. I would highly recommend to others.

I would put a loved one in there again if it was needed. It was a nice clean facility. The staff were great and were great with my loved one. A few issues happened during our time but we feel these were more of a result of things beyond their control like covid and staffing shortages. My loved one loved the activities and the food. I think they have a great program here.

They do a very good job keeping the community clean and the activities are really good. They could do a little bit better of a job with their meals - they do not have the biggest selection and sometimes what they say they are going to what is not actually what they are serving and sometimes the meals are served cold.

Terrabella is very nice, just a little on the pricier side. I do think that there is room for improvement in a few different areas. The communication is lacking when my loved one is running out of medication; I'd prefer to be contacted when it's almost time for a refill, rather than when it's completely gone. I don't live close by, so it can be inconvenient having to refill medication on short notice. There is a housekeeper, but I do have to go in behind them sometimes because they don't dust or pay attention to detail. There used to be a lot of different activities like gardening, but now there really aren't any. The residents go on a short (restaurant) outing once a week, but I do feel there should be more of a variety. I've also noticed that they may have some staffing issues and could benefit from hiring more people. I'm unsure if those issues are related to Covid. There's usually only about 1-2 staff members attending those outings and if there were more staff, they could likely do more things. Overall, this is a good community, they just need to improve on a few things.

We are very disappointed in the response time to the call button, and I am concerned for my loved one's safety if she were to fall. Otherwise, the place is clean. They have good activities. So it might be okay if you don't really need a lot of help. My loved one likes the people there, although she hates the food. But the call button response has been very disappointing.

This community was just a little over the top for my loved one. It was so big and there were so many people I felt like my loved one would not know what to do.
It was a good community. The community is larger, and more than we wanted to spend.
This is a very nice community and it was on the larger side. The only negative was the location was hard to get to because it was in a very busy area.
You should find a place that is close to where you live. This way you can still visit your loved one. I would recommend look at the food menu and see about tasting the food. The food quality has changed since the change of ownership. The food quality has changed. Lunch is the main menu. You only have one hot meal option at dinner. If you don't want the hot meal, you have a cold sandwich to eat for dinner. My loved one has complained about the food as well. This is the biggest complaint for the money you pay. The food manager, [name removed], was very nice. I feel her hands were tied though. It is a very clean community. The community is starting to have activities and this is helpful during the pandemic.

We had a terrible experience at Terrabella Lake Norman. I would tell others to make sure you are able to get to your loved ones after you put them in here. They talked a big talk, but after we put my mom in here we were not able to see or visit her. I would also tell others to make sure that you have everything in writing from the facility. I would not recommend to others who are looking.
