Mom has dementia and occasionally has outbursts due to new surroundings or if the staff approaches her the wrong way. They gave her Ativan every few hours to control her mood swings but she became a zombie. Prior to going there Mom was mobile, bathed herself, fed herself and dressed herself. Once there she was confined to a wheelchair, head touching the table and not able to feed herself. They even told us that if she doesn't wake up in time for breakfast they told her she could get cereal from the kitchen cabinet--someone in a wheelchair can get her own cereal from a kitchen cabinet???? They called me at 2pm one day stating Mom fell but said she had no injuries. They said they didn't witness her fall but believe she fell over her roommate's floor mats. When I visited at 7pm that night Mom's head was laying on the dining room table and her left eye was badly bruised and bulging. I freaked out! The staff said her eye was not like that 20 minutes ago--there's no way it takes 5 hours for a black eye to develop. When I told the nurse I was getting my phone to take a picture the nurse rolled her eyes. I demanded they call the DON and the doctor. Due to another outburst they requested that Mom seek treatment from a behavioral facility. The day after Mom was taken to that facility that nurse informed me that Mom had been "dumped" by Tablerock Health Care and they did not want her back--in fact, her eviction papers were sent to me via certified mail a day before Mom even Tablerock! They're supposed to give 30 day's notice but they gave no notice at all. And it was their job to find a replacement facility for Mom but they said they washed their hands of her. When my aunts and uncles visited Mom from out of state (IL and CT), the staff asked why they couldn't take her home and do In Home Care--how rude and appalling! [Name removed] does not care about the patients--he only wants the money. DO NOT GO THERE! If you want your loved one to die a slow, agonizing death then this is the place.
