Sunridge at Palisades

Old. Cramped. Stinky. My teenager said it looks like a place to come die!

I have a friend that is staying in the independant living and he seems to be doing well. They are making sure he goes down to the dining room for meals. They will clean his apartment for him. They also have done some remodeling in here that is really nice. It has a nice patio with a rose garden. When we ask for little things to happen they don't follow through when we are told they would do something. I would recommend this community.

I recently toured the community of Palisades, everyone was friendly. When I was on tour the staff were kind and all said hello to myself and my mom. The view from Palisades is spectacular. Nobody in town has this view. The place is going through remodeling and even though it looks good. The director and receptionist were very friendly and any residents I spoke to like living there. To me, that said a lot. We were invited to have lunch during our tour and enjoyed it very much. We also had a homemade slice of pie, delish! Mom is moving in soon and [Removed] has made everything so easy. Big thank you to her.

When we toured the Sunridge, it was nice, but it was nowhere near as welcoming as the Rio Norte which is close by. It felt more at a distance. It was not what we were looking for.

My mom has done great since the move to Sunridge at Palisades. We are very happy with the staff. They are doing a great job caring for our loved ones needs. Mom is enjoying the variety of choices at meal time. She is having a wonderful time participating in the variety of activities offered. The people are very nice and mom has no complaints!

Poor management. Medication Aides not properly trained. High risk for medication errors. Dirty. Several rooms with bed bugs. Many residents not appropriate for the type of facility. Residential Aides no training.

One thing that Sunridge at Palisades could do to improve would be to have a little more communication, especially the medical staff, keeping up with doctors appointments and such. Overall though the people there are great, friendly, nice people, and the food there is very good. They also do have a really good variety of activities.

I gave it an overall rating of Fair. It could be a little cleaner everywhere from the dining area to the halls and foyer. I don't know how to rate the value of the place since they don't seem to take personal responsibility for anything that happens there. Everyone seems to blame someone else for deficiencies or lapses in the care of their residents. I have repeatedly asked for a specific list in the different levels of care to no avail. Every time I ask why something wasn't done nor provided, I get the answer that it is not covered under the level of care requested. It's a lot of the little extra things that can make a difference and they just don't take the initiative. Just disappointed so far with the whole place. Maybe I just expected better type of service for an elderly person who needs a little extra help than others.

I would not recomend this place the service is poor and the meals is the worst part not even the homeless get this kind of food that's why i moved my mom to a foster home better option

I am so happy with Sunridge at Palisades, but most important, my daddy is so happy with it. They are so sweet to my dad, you couldn't ask for friendlier people. They are right there to help if he needs anything. They have plenty of activities. I haven't heard any complaints about the food, I bet he would like more Mexican food, but he is happy with it. The young gal we spoke with, the one who did the intakes, Nicole, she was very open and receptive to us. Not everyone in the family was on board with this move, and she was a huge help in making them see this was a good thing.

In some ways they’re great and in some ways they’re not. She moved into an apartment that hadn’t been clean, but they’re slowly getting it cleaned. They do take the trash out on time and the public areas are fine. It’s one of the most inexpensive places in El Paso that I’ve learned about. My loved one uses independent living so she only sees the RAs and the Nurses. They check on her once a night. They don’t provide specialized diets so she has to buy her own food. Once a month they have a bus that takes them on an activity that sounds like it’s very good. They have activities every day in the community area – watching a movie or playing bingo.

It was a nice facility and did enjoy meeting Nicole Castaneda but still would like to see other choices before deciding.

Our experience at Sunridge couldnt be better. Mom seems very happy there and can't wait to join in on all the activities. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A great choice for our family.
