We would rate The Summit with 5 stars in every area. My mom has loved being there and wished they had made the move years ago. The facility is spotless at all times, all the staff are pleasant and quick to respond to any needs or requests. She enjoys the morning breakfast and socialization. Our Dad passed in the Spring and since then she has been able to take advantage of more activities; enjoying the pool almost daily, participates in bingo twice a week, gaming, s'more nights, the entertainment and Happy Hour. She has made many friends and is so glad she is there.... Read more

They offer many activities - exercise, pool, sauna, happy hour, trips, cards, salon (you pay), onsite PT (your insurance or pay yourself). It is a very helpful and friendly community. Close to many stores and bus line. It is an older group ( not many 55 -65) I really like it for my mom. I feel comforted with her living there and feel she is safe. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderful community with many social activities, making such a difference in the quality of my parents lives. It seemed nice when touring and was a central location for other family members.

I would recommend Summit at Glenwyck, however there are things advertised on the calendar that really do not occur. They say they like the calendar to be full for new resident tours...kind of false advertisement we say. The buddy system for the pool is listed twice a day....but you have to make sure another resident will go with you...that is your buddy, no staff member is there. Variety of Continental breakfast foods, they are the same everyday except waffles are offered 1 morning....and you better be there early, they can run out of batter way before the breakfast time ends.

It is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I love living here. The residents are so kind and caring. The staff is super friendly, efficient, and professional. There are so many activities, entertainment, and outings. We highly recommend any of The Summits. They all work in unison and share activities and events with each other. The office has someone inside to answer your questions or book your events or appointments. The Summits frequency treat the residents to special meals for the holidays at their costs. The maintenance of this place is outstanding. Work orders are usually completed in 1-2 days if it is not an emergency. There is someone on call 24/7 and you can reach them by phone. They always answer your call. The outside grounds are kept beautiful. Mulching, tree trimming, weekly mowing of grass , etc. The inside of the building is kept spotless.

The community has a wide variety of activities like, live music, puzzles, food parties, happy hours, they take residents to the trip to the stores to get groceries, go to the mall and so many more events for the residents to do and sign up for. The community has a pool and exercise room as well. They also do transportation, for residents to get two and from their appointments if you don't have a car. The facility provides breakfast and the residents are to prepare their own food after. However they do have lunches you can sign up for, frozen foods and a chef on hand.

My parents moved here during the pandemic and are very happy. They have a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment with wooded views on the second floor. What we liked about this location vs. other places we visited is that the residents and management are friendly and inclusive, as opposed to some communities that try to be upscale. The facilities are clean, accessible and well maintained. Most importantly, people seem to enjoy living there! It's independent living, so you can keep to yourself or partake in activities, of which options are aplenty. Transportation is available for shopping and appointments, and from what I'm told the drivers are really great. The real highlight however is the administration at this specific location. The community manager Laura and team stand out and work very hard to keep the residents happy and safe. I was very impressed they managed to arrange for onsite COVID vaccines early on; everyone was fully vaccinated by April 15 this year!

I like it here a lot. I highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is good for those who are little less active in their life. They have chess, shopping, planned hikes, and more are available for activities for the residents. The only food they have is a continental breakfast that is comprehensive. They have dinner activities that are scheduled.

I chose Summit at Glenwyck because it hit all my buttons of things that I must have. All apartments have a washer and dryer, full kitchen, dishwasher, etc. The staff members know everyone by name and sight and there are over 200 people here. They have tons activities going on, 7 days a week from morning until the night. There is no food served, but they do have continental breakfast in the morning and coffee available all day long. I think it is an advantage to have your own car, but they do have transportation to grocery store and doctors appointments. There are not a lot of things in walking distance as of right now. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

This is a very active community under normal circumstance. Despite all of the boundaries they have put up, under this leadership, they have done an outstanding job of keeping this community safe and a sense of home. This place is so clean you can eat off the hall way floor. The staff is absolutely wonderful, the value of this community is amazing. I don't need any care services but the staff is great. Even with COVID, they still have happy hour, they will bring a paper bag to your door with your favorite wines or sodas, along with cheese, crackers and pretzel bites. They have a special goody day on Tuesday, they still have continental breakfast in the morning, that include fresh muffins, fresh fruit, yogurts, and to go cereal boxes. They have gifts for the mothers on Mother Days. We have sub sandwich day and pizza day once a month, We have sing-a-long day in the parking lot, with our masks. They bring entertainers to the parking lot and perform for us. The indoor pool and movie theater just opened up as well! They have kept everyone activity and engaged the best they can, it is an amazing place. The staff is attentive to all the residents needs! .

Please stop touting this "Facility" as a 55+ community. I have worked in the geriatric field for about 4 years now. This "Facility" is one "step up" from an Assisted Living Facility. It was a Very Very Expensive Lesson to learn. Do your Homework!!!!!!!!"

The place was clean and very well maintained. Everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. The thing was that it did not seem like my mother would fit in The different levels and the long hallways it felt more like a big hotel.

Response from Summit at Glenwyck
July 31, 2017Thank you so much for taking the time to visit with us! With regard to the levels, we are independent living and don't have levels of care. Please feel free to come back again and visit. Be sure to keep an eye out in the Gazette for upcoming presentations!
The first thing my son said when we heard about the activities they provided "They are going to wear her out!" Mom really loves the card games, dominoes, and bingo. She also enjoys the physical activities, tai chi, and the balance exercises. They have someone who leads the activities and encourages the residents to participate. Included in the price they provide a continental breakfast, it is really more of a social gathering. It is a nice way to get the day started. She loves her apartment and has decorated it to look and feel like her homes always have. My son has visited and enjoyed breakfast with her, they are very welcoming to the families. Out of five the places we toured, this community was the best overall.

My husband and I are adjusting well. We are still moving stuff and getting used to the changes. The only meal that is offered is a continental breakfast and that fine. They have a nice variety of activities like exercise programs, games, and they even have an indoor heated pool. Our apartment is comfortable and it has been a good experience so far for us.

Overall I think they do a very good job at Meadows at Glenwyck. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the people are very friendly. The maintenance people get right on top of things if you ever make a request! We love the place, and Mom seems very happy here! The only issue we've had is that sometimes there is nobody at the front desk, which has left visiting relatives stranded outside. If they could get a little better coverage for the front desk things would be perfect!
