I would not recommend this facility for your loved ones * if your loved ones are about ready for independent care living and needing assitance * and if your loved one has a behavioral issue or the beginnings of dementia / alzheimers We lost our independent caregiver for mom back in January 2023 due to this facilities unfounded accusations against a wonderful woman who cared for our mother. Having said that I also want to mention that I'm not so sure this is actually run with Christian Values having seen how little care is exhibited when a person falls ill or hasn't shown for dinner and hasn't been seen for a while. Yes it is independent living but the Christian thing to do is to check on a neighbor when there is an issue by anyone who is available and willing to just knock on a door. Oh how far we have come from common decency.

I became concerned about my 87 year old mother when she began to experience symptoms of weakness which contributed to an inability to do many personal care tasks she needed to perform. She suggested it was time we looked into assisted living facilities. I contacted A Place for Mom and they gave me several contacts, one of which was SDRC. We toured several assisted living places before SDRC, but realized that SDRC's program suited Mom better than the others. Unfortunately, because priority access to assisted living is given to residents, it is unlikely that someone not already living SDRC would be able to get into their assisted living program. After several weeks Mom started feeling better and we explored the possibility of finding an apartment in SDRC's independent living facilities. We were fortunate enough to find an available apartment that suited her needs and she moved in this past week. I have spent a great deal of time there before, during, and after her move and find the staff and residents to be extremely responsive and helpful. Although it will be more expensive for her to live in this community than it was to live in her previous apartment, I feel this will be money well spent. I feel she is in a secure, well run community and will benefit from the numerous activities available. Management was excellent to work with and I recommend SDRC.

We like this facility. However, it appears to be geared towards Independent Living, with assisted facilities focused towards support of existing Independent Living residents.

A Place for Mom has scored Stuarts Draft Retirement Community 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
