Overall, my Mom is having a good experience and has made a few friends. Food is ok but they are promising upgrades in that area. Staff is friendly and seems to care a lot about the residents. Facility is pretty good, but a little outdated.... Read more

When it comes to the activities, our loved one does not participate in any, but I think he would if the staff members made some kind of an announcement. They also have a family practitioner, dentist, and podiatrist that do visits on site. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend St. Mary Villa to other families.

We have not been very pleased with the facility. I would tell others looking into St. Mary Villa to ask a lot of questions and visit the facility at different times and on different days to get a better idea of what goes on daily.

My loved one is a resident at St. Mary Villa and our experience here has been very good. The staff at this facility is very polite and pleasant and they go over and beyond to make a new resident feel welcome and at home! I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

The value for the cost is amazing. It is a clean, bright, vibrant place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have been a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, from the initial tour, application, move-in, and getting my mom settled. I definitely would recommend.

Response from St. Mary Villa, a CCRC
March 16, 2023Wow! Thank you for your kind words! Our entire team is so appreciative of you taking the time to share your thoughts. It really helps us help more people when potential residents see kind reviews like yours! Thank you so much!
The people there are very nice. Everybody is very courteous. They do the best they can with the way things are right now, being short-staffed. They try to cater to everyone there; whether it happens or not, I'm not 100% sure, but when the people there address something it seems to be taken care of.

I spoke with the director regarding the intercom system for the patients to communicate with the office, which is not working all the time. They say they are currently repairing it. One other problem is the front door to my person's room is so far away that he has trouble getting groceries to his room. He also says the food is awful.

They are a little lax on the cleanliness of the facility as well as the care. In my opinion, the staff do not give the residents the attention that they need. My experience is with the memory care unit though, so I am not sure what the rest of the facility is like. I think the unit definitely needs some improvements.

This is a nice community but they are having some staffing issues. My loved one did not receive the proper care due to the staffing issues that they are having. The staff were not very engaged and were from temp agencies. I would not recommend if you don't plan on checking on them daily. I do not think you should have to check on them daily when you put them in the care of the community.

This is an excellent facility, it consistently gets a 5 star rating in the area and we would recommend them.
I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff wasn't on top of the care that my friend needed. There are no food choices on a menu, it is what is available. Our experience was they weren't able to accommodate special dietary restrictions for our friend.

For the price point, they are exceeding our expectations, and getting our money's worth. For us it works well here. The staff have my loved one dressed and up each time I go and visit them. They are doing well on the food for our loved one.

Our family had a virtual experience and it was a very good tour. They took us around the community and showed us typical rooms and the layouts. They gave us a good idea for the lay of the land.
WE chose this facility because the transition from personal care to killed facility would be seamless. They are able to handle all phases of illness. They do offer private rooms and that is what she has. The only concern I have had is just that there is another resident here who seems to be monopolizing my mothers time but I am going to talk with them about it. I would recommend the facility to others who are looking. Overall the care is good and the staff are responsive and address issues.

St Mary Villa is a perfect match for Mom: religious values and loving care that make her feel safe. The medical staff are attentive and available daily for visits and phone consults. The staff are invested in COVID safety and strictly follow Pennsylvania and CDC guidelines to keep our loved one safe. They work hard to enhance social care despite restrictions. Thank you for this referrel.

It's a great place, especially if you are of the Catholic faith. The staff and residents are wonderful and very nice. The food has been a struggle, as the community needed to redo their dining room right before the pandemic.

We chose this facility because when we first visited they were very nice to us on the tour. The location was also convenient for her as well as the whole family. The rooms were good size for what she needed, plenty of room. My favorite part about this community was going in to see my sister. I would recommend St. Mary Villa.

Depending on what area of the community you are in, it can get pretty hot and stuffy in the memory care area. The bathrooms and floors are usually clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the needs of the residents. We don't think they have enough for the residents in the memory care area to do. The only thing they have in the way of activities are magazines and coloring supplies. We do feel St. Mary Villa is a good value for the price. They do offer religious services and a chapel on site and the assisted living residents are able to use it as they wish and memory care residents can use it as requested with the accompaniment of a staff member.

This was a lovely community. There are many amenities and activities, and it seemed very secure. The room was a bit smaller than others we've seen, but it very clean and had it's own patio.

My dad was here for rehab after a stroke and he loved the physical therapists and nurses. Definitely would go back there. They got him up and walking again.

The food is not that good they need to get a better chef and more variety . It’s the same all the time. They also don’t clean like they should . The Drs and nurses and aids are all very good and very caring!
