They were very attentive to my mom's specific needs. She settled in quite well in just two weeks. [name removed] was fabulous and so was her staff. I'm going on memories from two years ago. Mom passed in November 2021. She wasn't there very long. I can only hope that Splendor Oaks is still in business when I need assisted living.... Read more

The management was fine, it was the in-home-care staff that we had issues with. It was a clean community. The aides that are supposed to take care of the residents, did not do a good job. The food was okay. They had activities, such as card games but my loved one did not participate. They need to make the needs of the residents a priority, and ensure they are getting the care that they need.

We toured Splendor Oaks Senior Living and thought it was very dark, dreary and uninviting. Because of that we chose another community.
Yes, this place looks pretty but they are not good caregivers. My mom had not had a hair wash/brush, sponge bath and she looked very unkempt. When I toured it was lunch time so they staff was talking to the residents. I came to find out this was all show. Also, if you have any long term care insurance the administrator of Splendor Oaks will not complete any requested paperwork from the insurance company. I requested help several times. If the insurance does not get the paperwork they will not pay your claim!

This is a large Care Home. It was very pleasurable meeting [name removed]; hit it off with her right away. You can tell the residents at this Care Home are very important. She has pictures hanging throughout the home of now and past residents.

I had high hopes for Nora's Care Home, for my mother, but [name removed] changed my pricing within 3 weeks, gave my mom 2 to 3 sleeping pills a day plus anxiety meds, and tried to get me to go to her "rehab" classes with her. Included in her agreed services were to take my mom to the doctor in her Lexus and pick up prescriptions. Instead, my poor mom was placed in an automatically lifting recliner with nobody watching her, and they tucked the remote in the cushion (one would think they'd consider UNPLUGGING it...) and my mom found the remote, thought it was for the television, and she was flung out, breaking her hip and arm, and causing 3 metal posts to be placed in her hip. The surgery was over before they EVEN called me. The next week, she moved a prescription further away, called me and told me to get it about 20 minutes before they closed, then Friday dumped my mother in the emergency room. I was not told this either. The hospital called me about 3:30 and asked me WHY my mom was there, and I called and got the rx moved so I could pick it up. It was not a pain med nor her Alzheimer's med, but a cholesterol med. [removed] [removed]

We placed my mother in law in Nora's Care home about 3 years ago. She was near death when we brought her there as the last care home just placed her in front of the TV all day and did not watch her diet. She is now doing great. Her weight is in check, her blood sugar levels are now good, she is happy, and much healthier. They have good home cooked meals, great love and care. They have tons of group games and activities. If you truly love your family member, and would like them to flourish and live longer, then this is a good care home to place them. It always smells nice and is always clean, unlike many of the other places that we had checked out. My mother in law is now 94 and will be here until the end.

Nice people, too crowded and very small bedrooms. Also was not communicative about certain issues.

I really liked this one. It felt organized and caring. The variety of residents was good and they all were active. However, I did not choose it because it did not provide the privacy and appearance of independence that my mother craves, Nor would it solve the companion issue.

A Place for Mom has scored Splendor Oaks Senior Living #3 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
