My family toured many communities and when we left Southern Pines we just knew this was the place for our mom. We have been so happy and mom has really enjoyed meeting new people and being involved in the activities. Everyone has been wonderful and very responsive to any questions or needs that we have had which made the move so much easier.... Read more

A caring and loving staff. The people I know who work there have the best interests of the internal community they serve. A family atmosphere where all are loved and given the care the need and the staff goes above and beyond what is asked of them

October 23, 2023Hi, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
Today we are offered alternatives to nursing homes . They are memory centers which offer various activities, physical exercise and other brain stimulating programs. These are so helpful in keeping our elderly communicating , staying physically active and living to their maximum. I searched for such a place for my mom with beginning dementia. I found a community that was small, friendly and appeared to have a compassionate, caring staff. I chose Southern Pines. My mom is a new resident there. Although , no place can replace home . I hope she can adopt this place, be happy and call it home. Presently , she seems happy and is adapting well. This idea of memory centers is spreading and growing, and I feel will get even better with time

I am so pleased with Southern Pines. The staff there has always been open to me when inquiring how my mom is doing. I was even notified immediately when she fell. I appreciate that they want the family to be involved in the care of their residents .I would recommend it as a safe and caring place. After comparing three places, I felt this was the best fit for my mom.

Response from Southern Pines, A Charter Senior Living Community
June 10, 2023Hi Barbara, Thank you for your review! We appreciate you kind words and will pass those along to our staff here at Southern Pines! If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help! Thank you again!
Having been here for the past 7 months, I have found this to be BY FAR the best place in town. The people are very "family" oriented, the food is great, and we have noticed a genuine caring in the very hands on service. Communication is very important to me and that is something we have seen a lot of. When your family is being taken care of, I feel it is important that you're able to get a response quickly or updates frequently. I've seen a great lacking in other places around the area and country...not here. This team is extremely available and sincere. I recommend Southern Pines for all the services they provide and know people in all three levels of living there. Happy and Family are the words I would use to describe them.

They are friendly, responsive, and very caring. We picked this community, because it was the atmosphere. The residents seemed happy. The other place I looked at was too sterile, and cold feeling. The food it's a little bland, and maybe that's due to diet issues and ages.

Everyone there is extremely helpful and caring and they believe in being caregivers and that the residents are home not in some hospital or other situation that where they're living there now is their home and everyone goes out of their way to make sure that everyone has a good day everyday and is provided for properly if you need anything either the family or the resident all you need to do is tell someone and it will be taken care of and it has been a real blessing to have meals and medications taken care of that people receive their medications on time as the doctor has instructed

This is a nice community. My friend was happy with the staff and the environment. The community was clean and we liked that the staff was so very caring and attentive. The menu was excellent and this offers the best care and environment at all time. We would recommend this community for the wonderful compassion for families.

They were just very kind and very forthwith as far as making the arrangements . I was impressed with their facility. They are doing great. They keep it clean, and the staff is friendly. I don't really have any concerns at this time. It's going pretty well.

We put my stepfather in a little over a month ago. I was very happy with the price at first, but then because he's fallen a couple of times he's become a "level 2" level of care, which has increased the cost. The possibility of the price going up that quickly was never mentioned. He's only been there a month, and 30 days in the price tag jumped way up. Since he is just barely a level 2, I think there should be a little leeway. I do feel like there's been a bit of a bait and switch.

Southern Pines is a nice enough place. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the staff all seem friendly. The only real problem is there does not seem to be enough of them. They're all very busy, and it is hard to get their attention. It seems like if you do get some help from someone they "check you off the list", and you won't get anymore help that day.

It was fine. I’d give them a ten if I could.

Overall our experience with Southern Pines was very good. The facility itself was very nice, and the care they provided was excellent. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and professional. However, when my loved one got to the point where she needed to move to a higher level care facility they could have done a much better job helping us with that transition. I had a lot of questions regarding getting her moved, and I could hardly get anyone to return my calls.
