The food was very good. My Dad really liked it. There were just not enough staff. Also, they got temporary staff... so when I would go to visit it was always different people. So, rooms were not kept clean. I did 95% of the upkeep. The care in general was not what we were lead to believe it would be. Again, this was due to the lack of staffing.

The overall tour experience at Somerset was pretty good. My loved one was not fond of the apartments. He thought they were too small and not located in the facility where he would have liked to be. The food we tried was very good and the staff were all friendly. It was just not the best fit for him

I just had friend move her Mom there. Seems to like it. They just don't like the food much and getting meals not on time. Nice place I know everyone is having a hard time getting help these days. I do think they should get meals out better. My Mom is a diabetic.

We really liked the community. The rooms were smaller than another community we saw.
It was a good tour at Somerset. The staff were very helpful, and the key people made themselves immediately available to meet with. It had a very nice community dining room area. I noticed while we were there that the care staff seemed to have a frenzied pace. There were a lot of triage incidents and staff moving from once space to another juggling needs. I'm not sure if it’s like that all the time. I also saw that at other places we toured. Somerset has a religious connection, although it doesn't appear to be pervasive among most day-to-day things. But it affects some things administratively - for instance, they don’t serve pork products.
Somerset assisted living is an amazing place. The residents are happy and very well cared for. The staff treat residents like family. From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is welcoming everyone is smiling and happy. The administrator is very attentive listening to family’s and residents. Talking the time to put them first even when there is a lot going on. She has always been available to answer my questions or concerns. I am so happy my family is here and taken care of. If you are looking for a new forever home for your love one Somerset is the place.

Management as with most care facilities doesn’t care about the residents. Especially if the resident can speak up for themselves. Medication management is horrible, they don’t listen and don’t communicate with patients. I have had 2 people here one left after 3 months, the other stayed due to location. I will tell everyone I know not to put someone you love here.

If you have an issue they will listen, work with you, and figure out a solution. The staff is super helpful and treats the residence with the utmost care and love. They go out of their way to go above and beyond with the care they provide. I would recommend this community to others.

We chose Somerset Lodge because at the time when she needed to move they had availability. I visited and thought it looked good and it was also convenient to me. The room sizes here were fine, they do have 3 different ones to choose from. They accepted my mom under level 5 care, but they did not have enough staff to take care of her. She would ring the button and it would take forever to someone to come check on her so she would try to do things herself. We ended up moving her out.

We toured this community for my mom's care. We liked the tour and us happy with the nice staff. The community was clean and we liked the menu and activates. My mom wanted something that was a little bigger at the time of the tour. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

The Somerset Lodge felt more like a hotel. The apartments just had a small kitchen and all 3 meals were provided as a part of the monthly rate. We were looking for something a little bit more independent with the freedom to chose meals and a full kitchen. Also, my mother felt that it was catered more to the ones who were less active. It was a nice community with nice people, but not what we were looking for.

It is such a friendly, cheerful community. Staff is so helpful. Lovely people all around, plenty of activity choices and located in a quiet park-like environment. Couldn't be more pleased. I've had several friends and family members in similar living situations. Wish I had known about Somerset Lodge for them.

This is a great community. The staff is outstanding and very caring. The community is clean and very nice inside and out. We have seen a lot of the meals and they appear to be more like the very nice restaurant. There are offering him to participate in activities. We would highly recommend the care and value of this community to other families.

A Place for Mom has scored Somerset Assisted Living 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
