Solstice Senior Living at Las Cruces

Solstice is fabulous. I have recently added Hospice in-home care through Ambercare. Solstice has been wonderful and working with care providers. Solstice provides so many opportunities for their residents with a variety of activities and celebrations. The dining area is exquisite. This has been a beautiful & safe place for my Mom.

Very friendly and helpful staff. This facility is very nice but the stairwells could use a more frequent cleaning. Would also like to see a few more activities provided for those residents who have more mobility.

We moved my in-laws to a casita with help from "[name removed]". My father in law left the premises and got picked up by the police. So, we had to move them inside (which involved another trip to las cruces and yet another move). A month later, they said they couldn't handle my father in law's dementia so they insisted we pay for a 24 hour care if he stayed there. We ended up moving both of them to [community name removed] which was a locked unit and what he needed. Solstice could not provide the care they needed and it was stressful, expensive and extremely inconvenient for them to be there.

Housekeeping is good. The meals are great, especially the choices. Communication is good with the family. Move-in process is good. Staff is very friendly and keep an eye on your loved one. This facility is a little on the expensive side, but I would recommend it highly.

Activities director is very nice, food service not so great as residents have long wait times and food orders often are wrong. There is much favoritism among some waiters and some residents. If you are not a favorite, then waiting up to an hour to get your plate is not unusual. This is probably due to being quite short staffed. Other staff is very nice. Facility and grounds, including pool, are very clean. It's the only independent senior facility that washes residents' sheets and clean units weekly. Overall, we are satisfied with this place.

We are very happy with Solstice and so is Mom. She has had a lot of health issues lately and we have been able to get the support she needs by contracting their in house home health aids for her day to day care. Things are going well. The staff are extremely helpful and nice. They learn the residents names quickly and always address them by name. Social gatherings are organized weekly and staff participated in the festivities. It is a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. They have a wide array of apartment sizes offered, from studio apartments to town houses.

Residents seemed very happy. All staff is great to work with. A vehicle to transport residents to appointments or shopping or outings. Daily activities every day of the week including church services. They, sit down restaurant with waitresses for every meal and a variety of food to pick for each meal. It's the most reasonably priced facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico for all of the amenities in the best staff.

This is a nice place to live. There is housekeeping once a week that is included. There is a communal laundry area on each floor in the building for the residents to use. There are three meals a day served to the residents. The community has a special of the day, and then a standing menu for the residents to order from as well.

We picked this community, because we liked the feel of it, it suited the type of facility that my loved one needed. They have done well with taking care of my loved one.. It felt more like an apartment complex of people, and not a home where thy are not confided or locked up.. They can go and come as they please.. I would recommend to other families.

We have absolutely no complaints what so ever - we have sent 2 people here after our brother and they love it. It is a beautiful clean facility with friendly staff. The food is great as well. We truly have nothing bad to say at all, it is an awesome place and we would highly recommend them.

The transition was very smooth and easy- my parents felt very welcomed. Everyone has been super friendly and helpful - my parents said they have had no problems. The facility is very clean and well kept. The outside is beautiful and the landscaping is well maintained. It is in a safe location as well. They seem to have plenty of activities provided, my mom is always busy and has made friends. My parents have never been as active as they have been since they moved in here. They said they enjoy the food and everything is good. My parents are very happy with their choice.

The dining room is absolutely exquisite and clean and just wonderful. The staff is amazing. They offer many options. They offer a ton of activities , but have so many to chose from. The staff have been so helpful and so reliable. They just go above and beyond for all residents. They are by far one of the best in the city, they have with wonderful.

I would try any other community than Solstice Senior living. They messed up the financial side for my loved one. They wanted more money, I let them know I had paid the full amount. No one can give me an answer about the They keep sending my loved one a bill for an amount. They are not keeping up with their own finances. The administrative staff isn't good.

The staff members at Solstice Senior Living are really good people, some activities they had were bingo, movie nights and religious services. The activities scheduled before COVID was very well rounded. Our one problem we did have, was that they allowed smoking and one door down from our loved ones room was a smoker. Every time you passed their door you would smell all the fumes that were coming out which was a big worry for us. Even after expressing our concerns they still continued to allow smoking within the nursing facility.

We toured the facility and were initially impressed with the quality of personnel and surroundings. Moving in is difficult as there are no loading zones and cargo elevators. There is only one elevator in the facility and it has weight restrictions. The one dolly is lightweight and you can only move one piece of furniture at a time. Moving in was a difficult task. This is Not a Non-Smoking facility, even though they say it is. Smokers are grandfathered in and are living in quarters right in the middle of hallways so there is no getting away from smoke. It permeates the hallways into the nearby living quarters. Not healthy for visitors and/or other residents. Pay attention to the prices quoted at the presentation and the ones quoted at contract signing. We noted changes at contract signing. The CoVid 19 Coronavirus has changed everything that was positive about this facility. Now, Everyone is sheltered in their rooms, no more activities, no visitors, no interaction, meals are served in individual living quarters. All understandable but very lonely for seniors. I sense depression setting in on some residents.

Such an amazing place! The staff is super nice and so helpful. The environment is more like a vacation resort with the feel of home. The social setting is amazing too! Definitely my first choice when finding the right place to grow old gracefully for my loved one. Well worth a tour!

Golden Mesa has been excellent to my sister so far. We are especially thankful to the woman who recommended it, and to the lady that showed us around when we visited. They went out of their way to be helpful. The food is good, I would say spectacular even. We were able to eat for free when we visited the entire first month my sister was there, and it is really wonderful. There is a full schedule of activities for the residents, and the place is very clean and well-maintained. I will say that the couches and carpers are on the old side, but the manager has told us that they are in the middle of negotiating renovations. We are very thankful my sister is in Golden Mesa, and we would definitely recommend it to others.
