Healthcare Chaplain Review of The Simpson Place-Dallas Texas

As a healthcare Chaplain of 10 years now; I am so impressed with the Front Desk Staff, in particular; [name removed] She and entire Staff welcome you upon entrance to the building in full compliance with CDC guidelines and ensures a welcoming environment. My brief tour of the building to become familiar with the spiritual/emotional needs of patients/residents is monumental. [name removed] and others who support her when the telephone rings off the hook reflects the ultimate Team Approach care to everyone, residents and visiting families. Woohoo! to [name removed]. God bless.

Skipped for meals, missing belongs, employees taking breaks in resident's rooms

The skilled nursing (located on the 6th floor...very often) doesn't answer their incoming calls. I have never received a return call for any message I ever left. My parent was skipped for a dinner meal. We called over and over (we were finally told the kitchen was closed) before placing a restaurant delivery food order. Just before the (full course dinner we ordered) arrived someone gave my 86 year old parent 2 slices of pizza. Please don't get me wrong, I'm glad something was provided but they get paid very well. It shouldn't have happened. More issues are: * Missing belongs * An employee in the room (hiding behind the curtain) sitting in a chair texting on her cellphone (This was doing a pop-up visit I made) * Not being provide incontinence supplies in a timely manner (parent was told there were on order * Nurse disclosed a skilled nursing resident had been lost before. This was after I told her a resident tried to get on the elevator with me when I was leaving. * Request for personal care items not provided until complaint summitted to social worker I could continue but I do not have that much time. I'm moving my parent out as of today!

Poor quality establishment

Please be careful. Staff is poorly trained in areas of admissions. Website does not fully disclose criteria for admittance approval. I wasted a week of my time and theirs due to inadequate advertising on their website with respect to admissions criteria. I strongly suggest that anyone looking for Assisted Living arrangement please look elsewhere before making your decision. My experience was highly unprofessional and inadequate from start to finish. It’s difficult to get a honest answer out of anyone employed for Stonegate Lewisville tx,Simpson Place Dallas tx Or Lakewest senior living Dallas,rx. Warning, read their website with discretion as they do discriminate randomly for multiple reasons according to their management of which none are fully identified or disclosed.

Better options for Senior Living

I am a resident of this facility so I won't mention my real name. Although it is quite nice, not everything on the website is quite accurate. I'll try to clear it up a bit. I do pay an out of pocket amount every month to live here which is my RSDI benefit amount minus $85 which is my monthly allowance for personal expenses. I don't have any vouchers of any kind. However, what I do pay is supplemented by a Waiver from Medicaid and my supplemental insurance company. I have what was called a housekeeping apartment, which consists of a small bedroom, furnished with a single bed and a 4 drawer chest, a small kitchenette, furnished with a full sized refrigerator and a microwave, and a huge bathroom with a walkin shower. Our medications are distributed by medication aides at the appropriate intervals and this is mandatory. We are not allowed any medications of any nature, even benign things such as aspirin or a nasal spray. These have to be administered by staff without exception. My blood pressure is checked twice a day. Meals are served in the dining room 3 times a day and are quite good. My favorites are the soups, which appear to be homemade. Although there are daily activities, I can't tell you much about them. I'm sure they're quite fun, but I'm an internet freak and Wi-Fi is included in our amenities. I spend many hours playing games, chatting with friends from all over the world, and just surfing. We also get basic cable, but mine has a problem so I haven't used it yet. They assure me this will get resolved soon.
