We had high expectations as the place came recommended by a friend and were sadly disappointed. It's been a while since this happened; but I'm helping a friend find a place for their relative, saw this, and thought I'd share briefly what happened to us. I'd honestly give Shalom much higher scores across the board if it were not for our loved one not being allowed to return to the facility after a brief hospital stay. With no notice. Imagine! Our bills were paid on time; we didn't know there were "problems." It seems in California assisted living facilities can say that suddenly they can't care for your loved one. So, go in with both eyes open, and just know a bait and switch can occur at any time. And get ready for being asked loudly in front of the loved one, if "you have the check" days before it is due. Gets old after a while. I say - go elsewhere.
