The whole experience was awful because they suddenly close their doors and only gave us 30 days to move out. They were very, not on the ball for the past or for the last five or six months that my aunt was there. I was very disappointed.

The facility shut down. People were only given 1 week's notice to move. Not enough time.

I do NOT recommend placing your loved one at Royal Estates of El Paso! I removed my mother due to: they lost her medications, have lost multiple clothing items, have ignored assisting her with bowel and urine training, have left her unattended in the bathroom for prolonged periods of time, have ignored a doctors order when ensuring a specific diet, they have ignored emails, text messages and have not returned calls, when asked repeatedly to call back, failed to get her to scheduled appointments away from the facility on time, failed to communicate with her Medical Power of Attorney, about countless issues as it relates to her care, her hygiene, her diet, her medications and her wellbeing. This facility lacks leadership, staff members are unmotivated, refuse to provide the care that both the facility and the family has paid for, and quite frankly don't care about their residents. Pure unadulterated negligence! It's being managed by executive staff members from Florida. Really?

Please do not put your loved one(s) in this place if they need assistance. They do not care about the residents, the med techs are not properly trained, and the head nurse is terrible! Independent living might be ok but if you need assisted living this is not the place for you.

I would hesitate to recommend Royal Estates of El Paso. I don't believe they provided the care to necessary for my loved one. I don't think they had enough staff to provide the care either. They painted a pretty picture during the tour, and made promises that didn't come true. The nurse of staff was very kind and caring; however, she stated that there was a scheduling mix up and it would be looked at. However, it was never truly address to fix the issue at hand with the care.

Response from Royal Estates of El Paso
June 9, 2022We are sorry to hear about your experience at our community. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible care and services to our residents. We invite you to reach out and speak to the Executive Director of the community about your concerns. Thank you again for being a valuable member of the Royal Estates family.
We did a virtual tour with Royal Estates and it was a good tour, but the location was too far for my dad. He still drives and did not feel comfortable with that area or having to drive that far.
Very happy here. Important thing — very safe and secure.

This senior facility - apt proves fine care. I have been here 20 years. All the help and support they provide is sincerely appreciated. The 24-hour security and availability is so welcomed.

Overall I think [name removed] has done a great job of trying to keep residents safe and healthy. We are not always happy with the decisions, but he tries to be firm and fair. Food is sometimes not the best. I think if he reopens the dining room everyone will be much happier. This is one of my biggest complaints.

Since my loved one moved in, he has mentioned a couple of things that have been concerning him. He has complained about the meals and the food service. I have also heard other residents complain about it and publish it in their little newsletter they have there. The place is quite nice, I like it so far but my loved one is not generally a happy person.

Response from Royal Estates of El Paso
June 6, 2017We appreciate your feedback, and were sorry to hear that your loved one's time at Royal Estates has not been a five-star experience. We practice an open-door policy, and would love to hear any additional thoughts or comments you may have. Please feel free to reach out to our Executive Director at our community phone number. Thanks!
My mother has been part of the Royal Estates community for nearly 2 months. Her transition has been difficult at times because she has missed her home of 50 years. Yet, my siblings and I, have been very pleased with her life at Royal Estates. She too, is thankful for a good new home. She is safe, well cared for, and is surrounded by kind people. The staff at RE has been exceptional and worked hard to make my mothers transition and stay a positive experience. We appreciate the nice accommodations, the good meals, plentiful activities, and the attentive staff. I only wish we had found this place earlier.

I wish I could move into Royal Estates of El Paso. My uncle is settling in very well. He is not very social so it may take a while for him to be involved more in the community. I am not sure about the activities they offer as I am not there very often. I have tried the food and it was wonderful. The community is nice and I would recommend this community.

The staff here is okay and they are friendly, but they are not very well trained and they are not attentive enough to the residents here. The food is just okay, and the maintenance crew just does not do a good enough job of keeping the place clean.

Response from Royal Estates of El Paso
December 23, 2015At Royal Estates of El Paso and Senior Lifestyle Corporation, we always strive to providethe best service for our residents and guest. And unfortunately on this occasion, we did not exceed your basic expectations asked of us. I can only image the disappointment that you must have felt with our staff when your needs were not attended to properly. I completely understand your concerns and would feel the exact way if I was in your shoes. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations and will address all your concerns with our employees and management team. We will be providing additional training to ensure that we provide exceptional service in our community for all our residents and guest. I am available to discuss your concerns and ask you to give me the opportunity to meet with you, feel free to contact me at [removed] or via email at [removed].
My Doctor told me he didn't want me here. Now I know why. The food is not diabetic friendly, or low salt, although they said " it would be when I moved In." The maintenance is shoddy work at best. That is considering if you can get someone to come to your apt. If you have medicine or a ups package delivered to the desk, they forget to give it to you, or even tell you about it. The staff for the most part are rude and not helpful. There are very few activities. In all this is not a place I would recommend.

Response from Royal Estates of El Paso
October 8, 2015Thank you for taking the time to review our community. I am truly sorry that your experience living at Royal Estates Of El Paso has not been a pleasant one. Our community does offer a variety of menu choices apart from our two main choices. In an effort to improve on the variety of dietary and low salt meal choices I will be requesting the assistance from our Regional Director of Dining Services. I would love to speak with you further about this. Please free to visit us or contact me directly. Anita Luna Executive Director
The food here is tasteless and not a balanced meal. They serve mixed vegetables everyday which is mostly carrots. Not diabetic friendly, even though they have sugarless desserts. Maintenance is horrible. When you can get somebody to fix something, it is done in a haphazard manner.

This was not a place for our loved one, since we did not like it from the minute we walked in. It seemed that there were too many people there at the time of the visit. I didn't like that and it gave us a bad feeling when we walked in. The public restroom was not kept up and it was dirty. The staff were good with the residents. The repairs done in the community, in the bathroom of the room we were showed as a model, looked like they were done by an unskilled and untrained person. I'm not sure if they were trying to save money or what, but it's not something to do in a show room, where folks are making decisions on placement. There seemed to be a lot of activity going on and great interaction with the residents.
