Over the past year my aunt has been a resident a huge eye opener! Elderly care is incredibly expensive but the care you get in return is subpar. Entire facility only has med techs & cna’s majority are paid $10 hr.. How can owners expect employees to go over and beyond when someone flipping burgers can make $4 dollars more an hour. Good employees they had left because working 50 to 60 hrs. a week is ridiculous. Everyone quits or fire them for not working doubles or triples labor board would close the doors. Floors never see get mopped, on going roach problem and food served is disgusting majority of time then served cold! On weekends 2 people work entire wing alone residents lay in urine because of short staffing. If these conditions continue state will close their doors I hope one in Fayetteville is better. Nice facility always decorated for any holiday but level of care received is horrible!

My mother was there for about 2 years. Constantly ended up in the hospital with UTI's. Her clothes we provider would always disappear. She was 81 at the time and who 81 would were a hot pink bra. They dont care about their patients, an [name removed] is never there. The facility is ran by med techs and cna.. there is no RN or LPN on staff. My momma ended up in the hospital with a UTI so bad she had blood in her urine. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. For the price they charge this place should be shut down.

Worst nursing facility ever. They don't give residents any attention and they starve them if they can't feed themselves! No compassion for your loved ones.!

From what I experienced they staff here is nice, but they didn’t have enough staff to handle all the clients that were there. This facility has an assisted living and memory care area so it’s a nice sized facility; it just has a very low staff to resident ratio. It was hard for the staff to keep up with the care of their residents. They also have limited resources as far as activities. They residents sat around all day, watch TV, and eat. No type of activities to engage their minds at all.

This isn't a bad community, they were not able to provide the type of care my husband needed. It is a nice looking community, they do a good job with the cleaning. The staff was kind and tired their best to care for him. It was a nice experience, just not the community for my husband and his needs.

A Place for Mom has scored Rivers Edge of Lumberton 1.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
