We have been very pleased with Prairie Elder Homes. It is a smaller community so there is better individualized care. It is in an actual home with only about 8 residents. They have a petting farm outside where residents can go and pet the animals and they also have a couple cats that live in the house. They are home cooked meals and she enjoys them. It is a wonderful place and I would recommend them.... Read more

Our Mom moved into Farm East in April 2018. Farm East was an answer to our prayers. For the next few years, it gave my family and I peace of mind that our Mom was getting the best care from the best staff, she was safe, getting good meals and it was a positive environment. The staff were friendly and welcoming in including family members. We quickly removed our Mom from Farm East at the end of January 2022. She had become dehydrated and they were not helping her eat. Our Mom can't eat or drink by herself. They left her in bed not even checking on her. The good staff were forced out. New staff are uncaring and untrained, meals are unhealthy. The new staff raise their voice in anger at residents. COVID protocols not observed, residents are ignored who do not participate in staged activities. Management and staff not trained. Staff don't respect residents. I feel bad for the goats and pigs, they deserve so much better. I worry about the residents that are still there.

I give them a superlative! They are much better than anything I have seen. It's a great model if you have the right people, and they seem to have the right people. I give them as many stars as there are!
