My dad passed away in August. The Pines was wonderful to him. Very caring kind staff. They were always well staffed, we never felt like they were short handed. The staff really tries to grant all requests no matter how big or small. The public bathroom could be updated/repaired to have a more clean feel for guests.

We have enjoyed The Pines everyone is friendly and helpful. We do think is a great value for the price. The person that showed me around was very nice and it was clean. It's smaller than where she came from and I love the smaller size. She knows everyone and she can walk around on her own. It has brought her a lot of independence.

They were extremely short staffed. We literally were going back in the middle of the night to calm mother, who could not master the button and would lay in bed and scream for help. So we got up, dressed and had to go back there because they would not answer the phones. She was there for exactly a month and they tried to charge us an extra month and we had go to the corporate level to explain that they were unreasonable. They gave her her medicine incorrectly. I should have kept her home and let her die happy. I have to live with that for the rest of my life.

we chose Pines Columbia because the facility was more up to date and clean and did not have a nursing home vibe like other assisted living facilities.

They took my cousin who was in skilled care facility with myasthenia gravis. They were welcoming ,attentive to his needs and communicative to me when things are not right. They have been accommodating for his special diet and the staff has been very pleasant and listen to my concerns. The cost is very reasonable and the rooms spacious . I recommend this place to anyone in the West Columbia area.

We were just there visiting my wife's sister. Wonderful place. The staff are wonderful. Our sister is getting along well there.
Our family had an in person tour with Pines of Columbia and the sales lady was absolutely wonderful! However there was another community that was just going to be the better place for our loved one.
The staff is nice. They are responsive, too. Mom says her meals are not made with her restrictions in mind. Salt and fat are the main issues there. The lost some of her laundry, but it was found a little over two weeks later. She likes the facility, which is critical.

The reason we gave the cleanliness a 4 is because the public bathroom was a little off. I was really impressed with the staff, their attentiveness and relationships with the residents. It felt like a big family with all the dynamics. So grateful for A Place For Mom for pointing us to the Pines. Also, they picked up on some health concerns during rehab and Dad got care promptly due to their awareness of a change in his energy.

They are short staffed. The administration is not good. The meals were okay. The client care staff is wonderful and treat the clients and family with honor and make connections. They care. I absolutely loved the care staff. The head nurse, [name removed] ,and my mother's caregivers were wonderful and truly loved her so much. One asked for some little thing of hers if I could spare them when she left and they knew she was on hospice. They treated her so sweetly. We had a camera in her room and they were sincere. However, we had to go back in the middle of the nights because they didn't answer the phones and mother was screaming in panic and couldn't remember to press her call button. And it was because they would only have 3-5 staff there for the whole 84 room facility. The administration doesn't care nor did they keep their word to us. I would not choose this facility again.

I toured Pines Columbia when looking for Assisted Living for my mother. It was a good tour. The cleanliness and friendliness were good. The staff seemed good, also.
We liked the community. It was more than we wanted to spend.
The Pines is a very nice facility that is the right size, so the staff know everyone personally and they pay personal attention to the residents, which is one of the most important factors in assisted living. The facility has been recently renovated and is very attractive.

I'm satisfied with this facility and my dad is, too. The staff is friendly and always there to help and to answer my questions. The food is good, but I'd suggest a better variety/more choices for breakfast. They tend to have the same few options everyday, no variety. Communication with the family is good. Housekeeping is ok, it could be better. They do offer transportation for the residents. Overall, it's a good place. I wouldn't mind living here myself if I needed it, I'd be content. I would recommend them to family and friends.

In the past the service, upkeep and Patient/Elderly care was great. During the last couple of years the service has fallen off. The Rooms are unkept, and the staffing is slack. Those who remain are trying to do a good job, but the quality of care is still lacking. I realize the effect COVID had on all types of businesses, but Hospitals, Senior Care Facilities, and Schools should always keep a high standard. I pray the next visit reveals more attention to detail, cleanliness, and overall compassionate care then the last.

I have already told others about the community and will continue to recommend them to others for their loved ones. My loved one enjoys it here. The meals are delicious. The food is well balanced for the residents, and well cooked. There is wide time frames for meals for the residents to come down and enjoy the food. There are three meals a day being served. The only issue is the doctor and nurse techs with the medication given to my loved one, and taking blood sugar readings. The doctor isn't providing all the medication information to the nurses to provide my loved one. The doctor on staff, isn't following the primary doctor instructions for my loved one's medications.

Do not expect to have your loved one cared for without constant intervention from a family member. The staff requires consistent supervision, particularly in regard to the dispensation of medications.

A Place for Mom has scored Pines Columbia 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
