My mother was a resident for seven years as her mobility and dementia progressed. Let me say that as welcoming as they were upon her arrival is how quickly they were done with us upon her demise. She passed on a Wednesday while I was out of state. By the time I arrived on Friday, her belongings were literally SHOVED into trash bags. The Social Worker, who was on the phone when I arrived, motioned me into her office, pointed at the bags and turned her back on me to continue her phone conversation.. She never spoke to me that day or contacted us since. We never received any condolences from anyone other than the lovely receptionist. No card, no letter, nothing BUT we do continue to receive all of the donation requests from them encouraging us to join in the building campaigns.
