We are so very pleased with the loving care that my mom is receiving at PBH Residential Care Home/Keith Heights. It is very family oriented and has a warm family atmosphere. All of the residents sit down to eat together family style. Mom is eating well and she is always clean. She has her own room and shares a bathroom with another resident. We decorated her room with her own things to make it even more homey for her. The staff is always so welcoming to all of our family anytime we stop in to visit mom. We love the covered patio for the residents to sit outside and drink coffee and enjoy the bird activity. They offer transportation for the residents if they have appointments outside of the community. We definitely would recommend this home for the care of a loved one.

My husband living at PBH residential Care home has been such a blessing for my daughters and me. It is home away from home. The care is tremendous and healthy meals are always served three times a day. Snacks in between meals are available. Each resident has their own room decorated to their taste by the family. Guests are always welcome and it is truly a family atmosphere. The activity director uses games to challenge their mind and coordination. The staff is outstanding with the care and patience they give each resident. Special entertainers come in to perform usually monthly or bi-monthly. The owners are very involved with running of each home. Colip House made a very difficult decision for me much easier. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is searching for a place to put a loved one who is no longer able to live at home.

Seems lovely, very professional, all information provided in writing up front. Deep discussion about needs of parent for care. Beautiful site. May be a little to pricey for us but we don't question the value of the rates.

We moved our Mom into their Brook Hollow facility with so much hope. All of our meetings had gone well, the facility was beautiful and they had assured us that they knew how to handle folks with dementia. We sadly found out that they were not equipped to handle all of the behaviors that go with dementia. We came to find out that the home that we thought would be a great place to live, was more of a museum. Where it was much more about aesthetics than love and care. Over the course of 4 months they had us add and or change several medicines so she could be "managed". I called the owner to discuss some problems we were having between the house manager and the doctors office. She asked me to give her a couple of days and she would get back to me. Instead she had the house manager tell me that our mom was going to need to move out. A few days later we received a letter to that effect. The owner never called us. That speaks volumes! In the end we are glad that they asked us to move because it was not the right place for our mom. We want her to live in a place that can be a home!

Response from PBH Residential Care Home /Keith Heights
January 21, 2021I am deeply saddened to hear this point of view. This dear lady was all smiles and hugs when she moved in and for 6 months, we / staff was able to care for her with the highest of standards. Almost overnight, her dementia excelerated and she changed into a combative person with violet tendencies. She took her walker and, on a rampage, threw it into our plate glass window, then entered into one of the other resident's room and threw the walker again on an unsuspecting person before she could be stopped. Thankfully, no one was hurt.. We graciously notified the family and gave a 30 termination notice as PBH does not accept nor are we equipped to handle advanced cognitive cases with extreme behavioral issues. I regret we could not continue care for this lady who was very much loved by all, but because we needed to protect our staff and other residents, removal was the only recourse. The family was beligerent, refused to understand the circumstances and in denial about the status of their loved one.
That did not work out well at all. They actually told us our aunt had to move out. They didn't like her using supplements in their care. She didn't want to take their medicine because she was taking supplements for the same thing. They finally told us to come get her and now we're in a whole legal battle with them. They filed against us for leaving even though they asked her to leave.

Response from PBH Residential Care Home /Keith Heights
January 21, 2021This lady refused medication ordered by her doctor and bought supplements through the mail which were a type of oils which caused a disgusting offensive odor throughout the home. It affected everyone who lived and worked there in a negative way. Sadly, she also was extremely difficult to get along with and sat in her room yelling at staff to serve her steaks every night for supper. She was rude to staff, other residents, and management. Her son, who also lived with us, was to be under her supervision, became unmanageable and took to eliminating himself wherever whenever he wanted. This situation, sadly was not a good fit for our home and the other residents, so we asked them to leave, of course with the standard 30 day notice. The family acknowledged the history of difficult behavior and agreed to move. This was one of a half dozen moves. They would not, however, pay what was owed to PBH, so PBH sought legal means to collect what was owed. We eventually came to an agreeable settlement.
We are overwhelmingly pleased with the care and the love that they give my mother in law there. I would recommend it to any family to look into them, we're really really happy with everyone that works there and its a very loving, peaceful place. They go above and beyond their duty, keeping her clean and pretty and her health concerns, just everything. It surpasses all the expectations we had for care. All places are expensive anyway, so they're within range of other places but they surpass all of our expectations of a clean, safe environment, definitely the best place we've ever found. For a different perspective, because it's my mother in law, I told my husband if it was my mom, this is the one I would choose, they have 6 rooms to a home and it makes a huge difference, they treat their patients with dignity.
