All staff I dealt with were pleasant and helpful. To be fair I did not ever see the facility but my sister visited mom several times and did not see any problems and in fact staff frequently helped clean her room which wasn't part of the services they provided. Overall ownership/management and other staff were helpful and friendly. There were some issues with some of the late night weekend staff when we were trying to get in contact with mom after her cell phone broke and we were trying to get her a replacement but otherwise no issues with the staff. My mom was always taken care of promptly and had two major medical emergencies while she was there; staff got ambulances called and got her to the local hospital on both occasions. Honestly she raved about the food. Even when she sometimes rambled on about wanting to live on her own she often said "but you know I really like it here" which from her was a ringing endorsement that she liked the food and the overall environment very much. Not sure I can rate them accurately as I think mom didn't take advantage of them. My understanding is there were definitely activities available but again she wasn't really going to them. Honestly I think Parkplace has to be one of the best values out there. While not technically assisted living she did get help when needed and staff was always available. She was pretty close to my sister and to get 3 good meals a day and a room to go about her day in was really all she needed. They provided many things to her including furniture and even a TV. For where my mom was at that point in her life and for the relatively limited budget she had ParkPlace worked out ideally for her and for us; I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for retirement communities in that part of Texas.

A Place for Mom has scored Parkplace Retirement Living 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
